Her left eye's tear ducts have been blocked since birth. We've tried warm rags and massaging it and still it's blocked. Now that she is 10 months old, she HATES it when we try to clean it up and treat it. Eye drops are even trickier to use because she sees it coming and we have to get it in the eye!

We've tried everything the doctors have told us and there is no change. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I was told while I was pregnant that brown eyes will dominate over blue.
Same as dark hair will dominate over blonde hair.

I was just wodnering.
I have met a new partner {not my babys dad} and he had dark hair dark eyes and tanned skin. He is Aboringinal {We live in Australia}
I love my son's colouring the white blonde hair and the bluest eyes everyone comments on them!

I would love to have a girl look like this.
I know people are going to same im a bad person for wanting my child to look like something...
But I don't mind her/him coming out with dark hair eyes ect.

But what will dominate?
I have auburn hair and bluest eyes and fair skin.
I was white blonde hair as a child.
My son gets his hair some his bio father.

My 1 month old son seems to get the hiccups quite a bit - probably twice a day, usually after feeding. I think it bothers me than it bothers him!! Is there anything i can do for it? He rarely brings up his feeds, and i use avent anti colic bottles and he has no trouble burping - as i said, i think it worries me more than him cos i know how uncomfortable they are - can i do anything to prevent them?

My baby is 3 weeks old. She really is a joy and is a good girl really, but over the last few days, she just cant settle in the late afternoon/early evening time, she can be awake for 4/5 hours. I shouldnt complain really as Im pretty sure it isnt colic as she doesnt really cry as such, she just fusses and just wont sleep even though I know shes tired! I rock her, walk her, bathe her, massage her, burp her. She nods off but then is up again 5 minutes later.
Did anyone else go through this and have any suggestions? and how long will this fussy phase last?
Thanks

My baby after discovering that she has severe milk allergies, now has been diagnosed with acid reflux. She is taking meds but it doesn't seem to be helping. She is 4 months old and they haven't put her on cereal yet. I've read that this helps? She doesn't sleep well because I think the reflux is bothering her. I have tilted the head of her bed and it still doesn't seem to help. Anymore suggestions?

At what age is it safe to give a baby finger foods and at what age do they usually start eating finger foods. My daughter is almost 8 months and is always wanting the food off of my plate. I have been giving her crackers but when can I start cutting up things for her to eat because she is getting bored with baby food. Also what is safe to feed her and at what age are they able to get the food into their mouth their selves.

I'm pregnant with my first child and both parents on both sides are deceased, no family around and moving to a new area. I may get a c-section and need help with everyday chores plus the new baby. My husbands job is very demanding and can only be with me for a couple days and then he has to go back to his routine of 6 days a week/ 12 hrs a day. Will it be a good idea to hire a nanny?... even if we can't afford it?

What is the average age that a child will start to wean on their own? My daughter will be a year old in a few days. I had not planned on weaning her, I want her to initiate it and was hoping to have many more months of nursing. But about the last 4 days in a row she only nurses before her nap or bed. Usually she comes to me throughout the day (I'm stay at home mom) and will nurse 3 or 4 times, not including bedtimes. I'm worried that she is weaning herself too early. I am so full of milk throughout the day I feel like I could burst. I don't know whether I should pump it to keep my supply up in case she changes her mind or if I should just deal with it. Any input from long time breastfeeders?

My daughter is 2 months old tomorrow. I just got the umbilical cord report back and it showed that there were only two blood vessles instead of the normal three. The report said due to abnormal umbilical cord, careful evaluation of the infant for possible associaed congenital abnormalites is advised. My daughter has not showed any signs of having problems. At birth she was given an apgar score of 9 both at 1 minute and at 5. Did your baby have only two blood vessels? If my daughter did have problems would they have picked up on it by now? We're going to her doctor tomorrow for her two month appointment. But I'm freaking out now. Please help.

Thanks.

It is really painful when I go cos I can only get it out by straining really hard but even that doesn't always work and I'm just left feeling uncomfortable because I cant get it out. I also bleed when I go is this normal ? I had to be cut and have 3 stitches during labour which also doesn't help. Please I'd appreciate any advice

I'm trying to figure out what is cheaper and better to use. I have a 6 yr old who was on liquid formula, and he's did just fine. Now I'm 32 wks pregnant with twin boys and now wondering about powder?
Whether what is cheaper it doesn't matter cuz I'll need to buy everything by two's. Which lasts longer or stays the freshes..liquid or powder.

Hi, just want to know what you think about my daughters bed time. She is now 10 monhts old and she's been going to bed when we go since I can remember (she sleeps in her own bed). Because my boyfirend usualy gets home around 9 pm we all usualy stay up until midnight and she's up with us. The good thing is that she sleeps trhu the night and usualy for 10 - 12 hours a night which is great, because then in the morning I have time to do whatever I need before she's up. It's really working for us this way now and I think that when she goes to creche (probably after she's a year old) she will just change her routine as she will have to wake up early so she will be tired earlier and hopefuly go to bed around 8 pm or so. Do you think that's it's ok for her to be up late with us, it's not like we are keeping her up, she wouldn't sleep before 10.30 pm,we tried. Thanks Klara

where do i find flouride and what form is it in (powder or liquid). is nursery water with flouride okay to use?

as far as the vitamins go... are they in liquid or powder form and how much did you give your baby? how long did your bottle of vitamins last and when do you stop giving your baby vitamins?

sorry i had to ask, but when my son got his first shots they told us to give him some infant tylenol beforhand but the bottle didn't say how much i should give to a newborn. my doc's office wasn't open yet so i came on yahoo answers to see if you all knew. i called the doc on the drive to his office and your info was the same the doc said.

My two month old son switched from breastmilk to formula 3 1/2 weeks ago. Since then he has been having a HARD time going to the bathroom. We were making him go once a day with a suppository up until last week when he began going on his own daily. We had switched him to low iron formula also. He is now back to not going on his own. He strains and cries although his bowel movements are not hard. I currently putting him on Similac advance formula because I have read it is not healthy to have my son on low iron. Are there any sugestions on how to help my son go to the bathroom without suppositories? I give him 5 ounces of water and 2-4 ounces of juice (either prune, apple, or pear) a day with his formula. Am I just supposed to let him tough it out? It breaks my heart to hear him cry and struggle

I've done my research on everything as much as possible. I want to be an active parent and know what's being done to my baby and why. I'm definitely planning on putting these procedures off for at least the first hour after birth, but I'm curious if anyone out there went without them all together. And, of course, the reasoning behind it. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I mean LOADS of weight! I've gone down from a UK size 12-14 to a UK size 6-8! I look way too skinny and don't feel very womanly anymore.

My son is 9 months old - he was exclusively breastfed till 5 months and then started solids at one meal. Right now he's on 3 meals a day plus about 4-6 breastfeeds - usually one when he wakes up, mid morning, mid afternoon and bedtime, but he sometimes has one if he wakes in the night too.

I want to put some weight back on! I am eating OK (I think).

My nipples are very sore but the problem is my right breast. I have excruciating shooting pains when feeding. The doctor says it is not thrush. What else can it be. It is putting me off feeding on the right side. I do not want to give up breast feeding at this early stage but it is really hurting me. Any advice.
