My daughter is one week old. After she eats we try to burp her, but she never does. Everybody has tried to get her to burp and she just won't do it. It doesn't seem to bother her at all, but I'm worried that it may cause problems later.

I cannot take her to the doctor until Monday- I don't think it is enough of an emergency to take her to the ER. But it's really awful. I've given her infant Tylenol Cough & Cold, and have tried steaming up the bathroom and taking her in there. It just isn't doing the job. What else can I do to get her through the weekend?

The Graco Snugride or the Britax Companion? I'm having a hard time deciding, and money is no object. Safety and comfort are my main concerns.

We did this recently. My fiance' already has a little girl from a previous relationship who is now 9. I consider her my own and am willing to raise her as such. Anyways, my fiance and i just had our first together. She came up with the idea of allowing her daughter to name the new baby. I thought-why not. Shes a great kid, very creative. She picked Hannah Renae. Odd enough my fiances sister made several "comments" regarding this. Said that naming the baby should be the parents choice, not a childs choice.
Has anyone else here allowed their minor children to pick a new sibilings name? I think this was a great idea, it really helped her get excited about the new addition to the family.

I've read that at 1 ywar they go off formula on ontowhole milk. What about baby food...is that combined with regular food ground up, or is it exclusively on to "big people" food?

Anything hints or history for what worked for you would be appreciated.....I'm a first time mom.

I have read a few questions on here, where a parent is asking what to name their new baby, how can a parent go 9 months and not have any idea what to name their child? And then ask a bunch of strangers if they like the name they are thinking of, or what to name their child. When I was pregnant, my husband and I spent 9 months finalizing the name for a boy or girl, as we didn't know what we were having, and it was settled. I know some kids just don't look like a Stephanie, or a Jacob, but have a back up name. It just amazes me that parents can do this. Does anyone else feel this way?

A very close friend of mine is single, has no children, and is in her early 40's, and has no plans on having children. She won't hold a baby till they are 6 months old, shes been that way since forever, and I totally respect her decision. She loves children, and is great with them but has told me that since she wasn't able to have children, it bothers her to hold young babies. My other friends think she is weird and always make comments about it when shes around. When she leaves I tell them to keep their comments to themselves, and when shes is around and hears them she takes care of herself and gives her thoughts on what was said. It bothers me though cause my other friends are so rude. She doesn't care but I think deep down it bothers her. How can I deal with this, we are all friends, so its not like I can keep them apart, but when I have the baby around, thats when they say ignorant things to her, and well my baby is my baby and she comes with me everywhere.

My cousin came over last night and her baby is 3 months, and she just started changing her on my couch. I can't stand that, it makes me so mad to see people change their children on a couch. I told her that I do have a change table, as I have a 5 month old, and she just kept on changing her child there. Then just before she left, she did it again, and I even told her the first time, to use the change table in my daugthers room. Im so mad at her, I think its so disrespectful and she should not have done that. Am I being ridiculous, or am I right in being mad that she did that?

My son's test came back + for R.S.V. I'm so sared for him. He's been put on a breathing treatment. The doctor says watch on him close because he can go into respiratory distress. What should I do to help him and what does R.S.V. really do to him. ( I'm also a litte mad because I've been breastfeeding this whole time.)

I still have not had a period since before I was pregnant and I have noticed that for the past 3 months I have had cramps that occur every 4 weeks (like a period, but no period). Pregnancy test was negative. Just wondering why my nipples are so sore all of the sudden. Has this happened to anyone else out there?

My son is 3 weeks old and he only wakes up every 4 - 5 hours for feeding. He would eat 3 - 4, 5 oz. He is gaining weight, but I am still curious - shall I wake him up so he would eat more often or it is fine to wait for him to tell me when he is hungry?
