Everyone else said good things, so I will not repeat them. The only other thing I would add is Johnson & Johnson Vapor Bath. That stuff is awesome. My daughter is 10 months as well and has been congested for a few days. Her doc did not put her on anything. She had us switch her to lactose free formula for 2 days to not contribute to the mocus (she only drinks 16oz formula per day) and told us to do the saline/apsirator thing. Other than that, I have been giving her Tylenol with the decongestent if she really needs it (she is worse at night). and a Vapor Bath at night. The baths seem to help more than anything. J&J also makes a baby Vapr Rub, but I have never used it.

Sounds like you should take her to the ER, or some other emergency facility. And my mom, who is a nurse, always says that you should never give you baby medicine until you talk to your pediatrician......I know that can be hard sometimes but not all medicines are good for infants, even if they are made for them. You may actually be doing more damage than good for her when you add medicine to the situation.
Fluids are always good to give anyone when they are sick, so try to get her to drink as much as possible. Pediasure and Pedialight are great ways to make sure she is drinking enough. Sugary drinks may not be as effective.....so be careful what you give her.
So I would try the fluids first and then take her to a Doctors Care or another doctors office that is open all night if it gets any worse, they are open all the time, and if you can't find one of those then I would take her to the ER. I really hope she ends up being ok!! :)

First steam the bathroom, then run a warm bath -Johnson's has a GREAT cold & flu bath - when bath time is over - use the Vicks baby, & be sure to use the hospital style nasel aspirator made by First Years - use a humidifer- if you dont have one just boil bots of water on the stove, that will release moisture into the air.
Good Luck.

10 month olds dont need cold medicane. the congestion is probaly bothring u more than it is bothering her! if she has a fever, give her plain tylenol only. as for the congestion u can use plain saline to loosen everything up enough to use your bulb syringe to suck out the mucus. u can find saline at the drug store near the tylenol. u could also raise the head of her crib(lift it up and stick some folded blankets under the mattress.) or let her sleep in her car seat. we always use a humidifior when are baby is congested and that seems to help. i hope this helps u!

Make sure you give her lots of liquids. Take a cloth and put some metholatum or Vicks, or eucalpytus on it and fold it inwards and place it on her chest. Put on some water to boil or go get a humidifier. I also made a tent over my rocking chair and the humdifier and set under it with my child. Give her some cough syrup, not too much. Give her sips so she can have a little in her mouth until it breaks up. Hope this helps. The humidifier is the best thing.

I think I'd go to the local pharmacy and see what they have. I believe they have over the counter medication for chest congestion for babies. It would be worth it til you can get her to the doctor. As long as she can breathe okay. If she's having trouble breathing, take her to the ER and tell them you can't get her in til Monday. Better safe than sorry. They can do breathing treatments to open up the passage ways and allow free breathing.

Elevate head of the bed by placing pillow UNDER mattress
Use a COOL mist humidifier trying to acheive atleast 50% humidity
Use a bulb syringe to get any extra mucus out of the nose
Use Little Remedies brand decongestant (it is mild and safe)
Nasal saline sprays (don't over do it)
Rub olive oil on chest
Give plenty of water to loosen up the mucus
You can use a home remedy: ginger powder, cider vinegar, honey, cayenne pepper(very little of each) and water and give 1/4 tsp to baby.

For nasal muscus you can put a few Saline Nose drops ( from any drugstore) in her nose then use a suctioner (also at drugstores) To suck it out. Try doing this a few times a day. Also try to keep her head slightly elevated above her body when she sleeps. That will help her breathe easier. Good luck, we've all been there!

give her infant medicine with a decongestant in it. also, vicks has a cool nighlight thing that releases the vicks aromatherapy stuff into the room for 8 hours. my son hated the gel so the nightlight worked great. also, use a bulb syringe (you probably got one in your baby medical kit, if you have one) to clear the mucous and boogers out of her nose. baby's don't know how to clear their noses so helping her out will help her breath and sleep much better.

I think your baby is sick enough to take her or him to the E. R..You are doing everything okay but she may need an antibiotic.
