Just wondering... I love my job, but maybe want kids someday too. I don't want to give up (a) to do (b)... I've heard that priorities like this go out the window after having a child. Did anyone here totally intend on going back to work, but end up staying home instead? sometimes, I know, daycare is so expensive that it doesn't make sense for both people to work ... ?

If after taking 3 of each 3x daily for the last 3 days I havn't noticed an increase in supply and I don't smell like maple syrup yet, can I take 4 of each 3x a day? I had read that when you find the correct dose your urine and sweat will smell like maple syrup and mine doesn't, so I'm thinking I might need a higher dose. Everything I've read says to take 3 of each 3x a day though. Is it safe to take more or do I need to wait longer to see results? I thought you were supposed to notice an increase within 48 hrs. of taking the pills. Has anyone NOT had success with taking these supplements? Besides taking the pills I am also pumping every 2 hours, eating oatmeal every day, drinking plenty of clear fluids, getting as much sleep as I possibly can, taking my prenatel, and drinking 1 beer per night. Any other suggestions for increasing supply?

I was asking about how to get my fiance to do the things a man should be doing around the house. I got called sexist a ton of times, they said that I could do the things like changing lightbulbs and put air in car tires. Before I was pregnant sure I had no problem doing those things. But while I was pregnant I turned those things over to my fiance because I dont need to be up on a ladder or trying to bend over to put air in a tire while I was pregnant. And now six months post partum I still leave those things to my fiance. So my question is, do you other mothers/wives feel that I am being sexist, and also did your views on who should do what chores around the house change after pregnancy was over.

Hi! My 6 month old just started solids, and I know that there are some foods you should avoid at first because of the risk of allergies....are blueberries one of these foods? My mom brought over a bunch of jars of Organic Apples with Blueberries...what do you think? Thanks!

The other day I was reading a question on daycares and it really hit me, when Im ready to go back to work, my child will be in the care of strangers for at least 8 hours a day. How do parents adjust? I just can't imagine being away from my child that long and letting someone else basically raise my daugther. I just feel that once I send her off to day care, I will be basically giving my child to someone to raise, and I am just being a parttime mom. Its really bothering me, how do other parents adjust to this? Is there any other way to think of it? I know I could do part time, but it still the same feeling, and of course theres not going back at all, but I mean for those parents that do go back to work, how did you feel leaving baby for someone to raise?

My baby just turned 5 months today and she can roll from back to stomach and plays on her tummy for a bit, once she gets frustrated of laying on her stomach she trys to get back on her back but starts to get angry and crys. She pushes her legs up to her stomach and her butt in the air and can almost get over, but she pulls her self back down. Should I let her fuss for a bit and try or roll her over myself right away? I don't like to see her cry but I want her to learn.

My baby is only 4 days old today but I'm having a really hard time with latching on. I met with the breast feeding consultants a few times at the hospital and they helped me get the baby latched on correctly but I can't seem to do it at home. I try and try and try at every feeding but it doesn't seem to work. I think I've done it successfully once. My nipples are very sore...I've been using lanolin so hopefully they won't crack or bleed or anything. I really want to breastfeed for as long as I can and having this problem is bothering me to no end. What can I do? What are some good sites to check out? If you had this problem what did you do to correct it and how long did it take to get it right? Thanks in advance. Serious answers only please.

I'm due in 2 months and the whole pregnancy I've been freaking out because my last labour was 37 hours in total (9 hours active labour) and I was exhausted because I hadn't slept in ages and bed ridden because my son's heart beat was going down with each contraction and I was induced so the contractions were severe. I started going crazy, I started hearing things and imagining things and I really couldn't handle the pain after that long. I'm petrified this labour is going to be as long and/or as painful as the last (i know it's supposed to be easier the second time round but I still think it's going to be a long one). Has anybody done or tried anything that has helped relieve the pain besides drugs because I ended up hacing an epidural with the last one and now I suffer from lower back problems and don't want to make it worse! and the other drugs the doctors offered me didn't do anything for the pain, just made be docile

Most people who answered my last question suggested I let him use a sippy cup. Problem is, I've tried that. He doesn't want it. But he does love cups. So, what should I do? I really want him to be able to do it himself, which is why I want him to use the sippy cup. But he prefers a cup. And he's not cordinated enough yet to drink from a cup byy himself, so you have to help him.

What should I do?

Can anyone recommend the right amount of sleep for my baby to have in the day time? She's nearly twelve weeks and currently goes to bed at about 10pm, sleeps till approximately 4-5am, when she wakes for a feed. She goes back down again really easily and wakes naturally at about 8.30am. Currently I haven't got any defined naptimes in the day, she generally just sleeps when she wants to and I'll put her in her rocker chair. However I do want to establish at least one defined and regular naptime in the day where she should go to sleep properly in her moses basket and I can get things done!! Does anyone have a recommendation as to what time this nap should be, how long and how should I fit in her feeds around it? Any input would be appreciated!!
