I'm not sure about blueberries specifically, but it's usually not recommended to start with blended fruits like that. You should start with yellow veggies, introducing only one at a time and waiting several days to watch for signs of allergies before introducing the next. Then move on to green veggies, then to single ingredient fruits. After you've introduced all of those, then you can try blends like your mom brought over.

You need to start with the veggies, and then work your way to fruits. Blueberries would not be a good food to start your baby on. Meats should the very last thing introduced. Make sure you do this slowly as children get very gassy when fed to many knew foods in one week. Just a suggestion but I would say no on the blueberries and the apples for that matter.

Just make sure you give the baby jar food that is for 6 months. If its not then I would not give it to your baby. Start off by giving veggies first though as once they taste the sweet fruits they may not enjoy the veggies and you will have a hard time giving them to your baby. Start with the green veggies, peas, beans, as they are not as sweet as the carrots and the squash, and this way they at least get a taste of them before they realize there are better ones. Have fun, my daugther starts in a month of solids and I can't wait.

I'd say don't give him any blueberries, they have like little seeds or whatever, but that could be bad for your little one's stomach. First start with gentle fruit like apples, pears and peaches, and veggies like carrots. Give him to taste the same food for three days so you can observe how he reacts to each. After a few weeks move up to heavier food like bananas and mangos, and veggies like potatoes, spinach, broccoli, etc, then red meat, turkey and chicken...Avoid chocolate, strawberries (i guess bluberries either) the white part of eggs, fish and peanut butter until he's at least 1 yr. old.
But, when dealing with a baby it's always wiser to ask a pediatrician.
Good luck!

No berries early on.
And only introduce one new food at a time, waiting at least 5 days between new foods. (So that jar you mentioned would count as TWO foods. A mixture is OK if the baby has had one of the foods in it and not the other.)
Great first foods are bananas, avocados and sweet potatoes.
Making your own is MUCH cheaper and very easy.

The only things that you need to avoid are the following: Honey, Egg Whites, Peanuts and peanut products, and anything that mom and dad may be allergic to, but only until they turn one, or anytime after that that you feel comfortable giving them to him/her. You don't have to avoid any Veggies, Fruits, or Meats, especially if they are baby food....If you go by the age on the jar, then you can feed them whatever you want to. They wouldn't make "Strawberries and Bananas" if you were to avoid Strawberries. The only thing I would reccommend, is that you give Veggies first....then after a few weeks, move on to fruits, then meats. It's your own personal choice really. Good Luck.

Every single country and almost all doctors have a completely different set of foods.
Aside from honey and corn syrup both of which may cause infant botulism it is up to you to decide. If you have a family history of allergies be more careful.
The top nine allergens in case you are really worried: peanuts, dairy, soy, sesame seeds, tree nuts, wheat, egg whites, shellfish, sulphites(if you count an artificial chemical as a food).

If you will note almost all teething biscuits contain wheat. All formula contains either dairy or soy. So umm really how concerning is it really?

You should avoid strawberries and nuts. Peanuts, peanut butter should be avoided until at least 2 (per my pediatrition.) Strawberries until at least a year and a half. Blueberries are ok. Honey should be avoided until they are a year old.
