My baby just turned 5 months today and she can roll from back to stomach and plays on her tummy for a bit, once she gets frustrated of laying on her stomach she trys to get back on her back but starts to get angry and crys. She pushes her legs up to her stomach and her butt in the air and can almost get over, but she pulls her self back down. Should I let her fuss for a bit and try or roll her over myself right away? I don't like to see her cry but I want her to learn.

Let her get a little frustrated. She is building muscle, when she plays on the floor like that. This in turn is priming her to crawl, sit, walk, climb, etc. So a few tears won't hurt. I was like that with my oldest, I HATED to see her cry, I was almost in tears too! But when my youngest was born premature(almost 7weeks) she was born with very poor muscle tone and was put into occupational therapy. She HATED it, and I wanted to cry, because what we as mothers, let them fudge on, they don't, she would have to show them she could TRY to crawl, sit, walk, etc. So, as hard as it is, let her do little even just 5 mins. a day. Good Luck!

just give her some more time to try to turn over on her own. She is 5 months now...she will learn it any moment now. She will need some more strength in doing it. You can help her by rolling her over also. But dont let her cry for too long.

let her fuss she needs to learn to do this on her on. I have seen to many mothers run to the rescue, and then the babies just stopped trying because the knew they could cry and get mommy to come. This is human nature, but really you are teaching your child early on that she can do it herself. You can also help her role over manually once in a while, but help her, don't do it for her. Good for your little girl she is right on track with her milestones if not a bit ahead.

I know it is hard but I think you should let her fuss a little. At 5 months old she should be strong enough to rollover both ways. She needs to strengthen her muscles. You can lay day with her and play with her and try to encourage her to roll maybe help he a little but make her so most of the work.

I know what you mean. I didnt like seeing my babies cry either. You have to let the baby try or she won't learn. Just let her cry for a little but then roll her yourself she will get it. Good Luck!

Let her try, she will get the hang of it. After she has tried a while you might want to step in and give her a little boost. Sounds cute almost in a strange way.

It is hard, but if she is just fussing and not crying, let her keep trying. Don't let her get too frustrated, but let her try on her own. She will get it! Congratualtions!

I think it sounds as if shes trying to crawl...You should let her keep trying and if she starts to get very frustrated then help her out...CONGRATS ON THE BABY!!!
