My beautiful little girl is almost a month old and is having a really hard time passing gas/stools and is in so much pain that she cries through bottles and continues to cry for almost an hour, sometimes longer afterward.
My Dr. is having us switch to Similac Alimentum...after having tried EVERYTHING else. I was just wondering if anyone uses this and what you think of it. We JUST went and bought it, she hasn't had any of it yet. Just curious to know what other moms think of it and whether or not it might help!
Thanks!!
(And just so you know, cause I KNOW someone will make this comment...I tried to breastfeed and I do not produce enough)

He's 3.5 months old and is a good sleeper. He loves napping in his carseat-stroller, or in his bouncy seat, swing etc. But I've just read that I should be putting him into his crib for naps. Since he naps 3-4 times a day I dread crib naps b/c it means I'll be tied to my apartment for most of the day. Experienced moms, any insight?

I just had my first baby and i have a few question i need help with.

1. How do you know the temprature in the room is good for the baby? How can i tell if the baby is too cold or too warm or just good? What is a good temprature to keep the room at?

2. Are there any foods that encourage my body to produce milk?

I guess that is if for now.

the first 4 days at home he would nurse between 20-30 minutes and be happy and content and go back to sleep til feeding time again and i am eating and drinking like I am supposed to and I even use a breast pump so my husband can feed him a couple times and I would feel up a 4 oz bottle in minutes but now he nurses for 30-40 minutes and then crys like he is still hungry is he not getting eough milk? When I was in the hospital a nurse told me about a pill you can take that is supposed to help with milk production has anyone had experience with this if so did it work? And also someone told me that drinking one unalcholic beer a days helps with production has anyone tryed this? I am desperate because I want my baby on just breast milk I dont want to have to give him formula right now. Please anyone have any suggestions I would love to hear them. THANKS

My boyfriends brother and his wife had their third child last October. The wife isn't the nicest of people but I bought her a gift for the newborn anyways. However, I never even recieved a "thank you" from her, but my boyfriend's brother thanked me. They are having their forth child next month and I can't decide whether or not I should do the gift thing again! Any suggestions?

PS has been tremendously beneficial to my family and myself to assist in mental clarity and plays a role in membrane integrity of the brain. Any advantage to adding small amounts to my infant's formula? Also the DHA and ARA found in formulas now that has been shown to improve eyesight and memory in infants fed breastmilk or fortified formulas (almost every brand has a variety). Would adding small amounts of purified fish oil with EPA/DHA and no extra Vitamin A/E benefit my infant also or could there be digestive issues? Thanks for your advise!

I'm always wondering whether or not I'm giving my daughter enough... also, how much cereal/solid foods were you giving them a day. I know a lot of it goes by weight and height, I'm just looking for some ball park estimates here. Thanks! I forgot since I had my first daughter!

Since thursday I have been bottle feeding and now I have thought about breast feeding. But I have little knowledge on the do's and don'ts. Like I have heard you have to watch what you eat...like pop and junk food and stuff. I have also heard you can't take medicine..like cough syrup and tylenol. I also heard you should take your prenatal vitamin for the entire time.

If anyone could give me the basics on breastfeeding...I would be grateful. Thank you.

My mother likes to give me information on how to have a healthy baby since I am 2 months pregnant. Today she saw on tv that pregnant women shouldn't eat food in plastic containers that are heated up in microwaves. They can actually cause your baby to be born with two sexes?? I thought that was kind of interesting... Does anyone know if this is true?

I just recently had my baby and I bought the bottles ventaire. Well a freind of mine brought over some bottles for me...Dr. Brown. And she said she used to use ventaire but if you don't put them together right they leak. So I have been using the Dr. Brown bottles so far...but my baby won't burp hardly afterwards.

So my questions is are the ventaire bottles just as good to use?

And with these bottles that prevent the air bubbles, does it make the baby burp less often?

My 3 week old son hasn't pooped in two days. He tends to pass gas a lot and acts like he's trying to go poop but nothing comes out. Since I brought him home from the hospital, he's only been pooping about once a day and they are normal looking poops. They are fairly big and mushy but never harder than peanut butter. When he does poop he usually does the same thing, grunt and pass gas. Should I call his doctor about it or should I just give it a few more days and see what happens? He doesn't seem like he's in pain. I just don't like to have him struggle so much when he tries to pass a bowel movement. If anyone can help me out, that'd be great. Thanks.

I use a hand blender to puree foods for my 6 month old baby, but really struggle cleaning it after each use. My husband suggested putting the head in water and then turning it on, not sure if he is trying to kill me off or being helpful! I have tried using a washing up brush but the blades just get in the way. How can I clean it?
