How can I get my 3-month-old baby girl to stop scratching her face? I trim her fingernails often, and my husband and I both sometimes have to literally hold her hands away from her face because she likes to claw at her eyes! She left a bloody scratch on her eyelid just a little while ago...are we going to have to start putting mittens on her hands? I really don't want to do that, because I think it's kind of mean (sort of like a straight jacket for her hands, in my opinion...she won't be able to do anything!), but is that our only option? If you guys have any suggestions, that'd be great. Thx!

He keeps getting his leg caught in the rails and they are so pudgy he can't get them out. I know bumperpads are not believed to be safe when they are younger, wasn't sure about older, and why do they sell them in stores if they are so unsafe? It's confusing. We all just want a good nights sleep.

I ask a silly question meant to make people laugh, and jokers have to act like I just said the Pope paid me for a BJ last night. Goodness, lighten up or just avoid my questions. Kalirush...I am whatever you say I am, whatever makes you feel better and gets you through the day love. I question twisted logic, yes, and I have a sense of humor. Sorry if I offended you. No need to get your panties in a bundle.

I had a baby 6 weeks ago. My dr. wants to prescribe birth control but I do not know what kind to get. She suggested an IUD or the pill but I do not know which is better. I just know I do not want to get pregnant again and I am too young to get my tubes tied.

So anyway, which is better the IUD or the Pill?

I have tried almost every kind of bottle out there and sippy cips but I can't seem to get her to take anything but my breast. She also wants nothing to do with formula. I don't have a big milk supply so I am unable to pump and I was hoping to get her to take at least one bottle of formula a day incase someone needed to watch her. Any ideas or suggestions?

Putting powder and diapers on them is BAD. Powder has little cornstarch demons inside of it that are activated upon shaking and once on the baby's skin, they will lift the baby up, and fly away with it like the gargoyle monkey critters on the Wizard of Oz.

Diapers have been proven to cause babies to sprout tails from their tailbones. So be sure to allow your baby to roam diaper free and if they poop everywhere, it's only because you SUCK as a parent, and you aren't in tune with their "cues" for poop and pee. Babies and cats both can use the toilet, and if they are not, well, you are obviously BAD.

I posted a ? about my baby waking up constantly, and one lady answered maybe she has heartburn (she's formula fed) I've mentioned to her pediatrician that she wakes up a lot, and he didnt say anything about heartburn, but I think it could be a reason. How can I find out? What are come other symptoms that she has heartburn? Thanks very much for your answers!

Our pediatrician told us this. He said that since a baby has such a network of vessels and capillaries concentrated on their "T" of their face (forehead and nose causing the slightly blueish look) that if you squeeze a pimple on a baby's face the pus will get into their circulatory system and potentially kill them.

Just sounded kind of far-fetched to me :-) Was wondering if anyone else's pediatrician had ever told them this. Ours has some kind of odd-ball ideas about other things too though, but he is great with kids...

My son is nearly 4mths old but very big and well developed for his age. The health visitor has advised me to start weaning him early. I have started giving him a selection of baby rice/ creamed porrige etc once a day at lunchtime but do any other mums or dads have any recipes for pureed fruits, recipes etc that are pureeable suitable from first weaning or within the first few months??

Also, is there anything in particular that they are not supposed to have until a certain age. I know of some things but like fromage frais, can he have this straight away or do i need to wait a while??
