No, your babies digestive system is not ready for cows milk. Giving the child cows milk will prove to only give the child allergies later.

However... goats milk doesn't have the stuff that is in cows milk that makes it hard for the baby to digest. It's actually easier on the childs stomach than formula!

You can buy it at your local supermarket.

I got REALLY sick when my son was about 5 months, so I had to quit breast feeding. I tried several types of formula that just seemed to make him sick. I didn't know what to do, knowing that cows milk is worse than formula.

My mom suggested I check out goats milk... I did, and boy did my son really like it! And so did I because he never got colic or nor did he burp/throw-up even like most babies do...

It was a great save! Check out the link before. (If you chose, the fresh milk in cartons - in the refrigerated milk section - is the best kind. However they do have Goats milk in the can that can be diluted).

Good luck!

No! Not a good idea at all. Cow's milk can cause intestinal bleeding in infants. And allergies may also be an issue. Stick to breastmilk or commercial infant formulas for the ENTIRE first year. NO cows milk until after 12 months.

No, not if you merely milked the cow and then boiled the milk. Boiling the milk does not remove all of the potentially harmful bacteria that pastuerization does. This is why women never utilized this prior to the advent of formula. Even with modern safety measures children are not to have diary milk until they are one year old.

IMPORTANT - READ THIS!! Your baby is far too young to have anything but breast milk, or formula. My goodness girlfriend, you just had a baby, didn't you go to prenatal classes. For heavens sake, READ-UP - call your local Health Department of your state/province/city/town. PS: Even if you boil fresh milk (you must be on a farm), boiling does NOT PASTURIZE the milk. Don't listen to me and do that - and I guarentee your baby will get VERY,VERY sick....

I wouldn't reccomend it, babies can develop terrible allergies to cows milk. The fat in the milk is not very easily digested and can upset you babies stomach also. If you want to feed you baby milk instead of formula, find some goat's milk. Goat's milk is the most common milk to feed to babies who aren't able to have human breast milk, it's the closest to human, and actually better for baby than most formulas.

NO NO NO NO

Please don't do that. Breast milk or formula - those are the only things you should feed a 4 month old infant. If you have financial problems that prevent you from buying formula or healthy food for yourself so that you can breastfeed, please contact your local WIC chapter. Your pediatrician can help too. Good luck to you.

no no no, it used to be ok but with everything they have reserched it more, but i guess if your desperate it wont kill your baby and will fill her tummy for now but only in an emergency. your baby up until 12mths should have breast or formula, it is really important for her digestive system , it could cause diseases later in life as at this age she can not digest cows milk properly.from 12mths on go for it .good luck
