My daughter is almost 4 months old and has been eating baby cereal from a spoon. I dont plan to anytime soon, but was wondering when is the earliest I can safely introduce all the fun foods like peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and such from a jar to her? And which ones are the best to start off with?

My newborn is 8 weeks old and everytime I take her out of the house (outside, my parents, or out to eat) she cries frantically! I try to introduce things to her that she is comfortable with at home, such as holding her closely, putting her in her swing, and even breastfeeding... she does not care. She does not want to be out of the house. If she falls asleep, she wakes up and realizes that it is a completely different environment, so she starts crying again.
Should I keep her at home and comfortable, to let her realize that the world is a safe place, by keeping things predictable (babies love repitition), or should I try to get her used to being out of the house? What if she has to be babysat in a different environment, or if I just want to get out of the house with her?
Does anyone have any suggestions? Don't get me wrong, my daughter is a complete sweetie pie. :)

I would like some serious answers on what to feed my 13 month old. She only has two teeth so she cannot really chew well yet. She also gags on third foods with meat. I think its a texture thing.
She likes cereal, and super soft green beans, carrots, apples & pears. She likes noodles but she doesn't swallow them she just cannot seem to gum them well enought yet, I have tried peas but she cannot chew through the skins, I have tried giving her finely cut up chicken, pork, ground beef and she just does not seem to chew them well enough, she will still have the pieces in her mouth a half an hour later and I get very concerned about her chocking because of it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

My three and a half month old wakes up twice at night to eat (at 1 am, and then at 4 am). I have to get up to work at 5 am, so I am exhausted most of the day later. I have been feeding him breast milk exclusively. He’s had some problems with his digestive system (gas & baby reflux), so I didn’t want to supplement with formula (breast milk is easier to digest). Now his reflux is under control, so maybe I could alter his diet slightly. My girlfriends advise me to:
1. Feed him formula just at bedtime – it takes longer to digest, so he will sleep longer
2. Give him some cereal at bedtime – for the same reason
3. Give him some water when he wakes up for the first time. It won’t increase the production of acid in his stomach like milk or formula would, so he won’t get hungry too soon.

Are there any other options? Which one worked for you?

My son LOVES to be rocked, but not really slow, kind of pepped up as if in tune with music and it puts him to sleep within seconds. I'm forever worried about everything and im scared that it's dangerous. NOTE: Its never rough or violent, just kind of fast paced. ONLY MOMS or DADS

I started my 5.5 month old daughter on rice cereal last week. I t took a good 4 days for her to get used to swallowing but now enjoys eating it. Since we started i have noticed an increase in gas. SHe passes gas quite frequesntly throughout the day. Does starting solids usually cause this?

I have a 3 week old son and I was wondering if crying it out is a good thing for him or not? He tends to cry for no reason. I will feed him, change him, and hold him but once he seems like he's quieted down and I lay him down, he starts to cry again. I feel bad letting him cry it out but when I've already done everything I could to meet his needs, I don't know what else to do other than to lay him down in his room and let him just cry himself to sleep. I know babies like to be held but if I held him to keep him quiet, I'd never be able to get anything else done. I would be holding him 24/7. Is it okay for him to cry it out when I've done everything I could satisfy his needs? Is it helping him learn to sleep on his own or is it doing damage? I don't really know, being a new mom and all. I hear all kinds of different advice and I don't know what to use. Can anyone give me some advice on this suject?
