i am a first time mom and i live with my baby daddy and his parents. some times i feel like his mother doesn't think i can take care of my own child. i know she is trying to help and this is her 1st grandchild but i feel offended when she is like are you sure she's hungry when she cries or when she is bundled up already when we have the air on she gives hints that she needs a hat and socks on. i dont want to over heat her and i pretty much know her cries. am i wrong and overreacting when i get upset and feel stupid

My cousin has a 3 1/2 month old baby girl. She finds it necessary to call, and e-mail me all the time asking in-depth queries about what my baby girl (9 months) was doing at this age, what she was eating, what milestones she had reached...you get the point.

Anyways, she is on this ultra paranoid guilt/ego trip about breast milk, and/or lack of. She decided not to pump at work often as she should, so she lost a bit of her supply. Now her baby is on like 30:70 ratio of breastmilk to formula. She says her baby is doing all these remarkable things I'm sure very few 3 month olds in history have attempted (trying to walk, talking, and sitting alone to name a few) and her milk was the reason. She criticizes me for quitting pumping for my girl at 5 months, and always says her baby will be smarter and "better" than mine. This is said jokingly, but often, so she means it in some degree. She also calls my baby "lard @ss", and "fatty taffy". She's 9 months, very tall, and only 25 lbs.

My son is 2 weeks old and when I feed him he'll fall asleep. I'll lay him on my chest and he'll sleep fine, but as soon as I put him down to get some of my own rest he'll wake up and start crying and acting like he's hungry again and the only way to comfort him is to put him to my breast again.. is my milk supply low? or is he just being fussy? I'm getting frustrated with him wanting to eat ALL the time, and I dont want to suppliment with formula.

She wakes up at night and starts crying because she doesn't have her pacifier in her mouth, so I have to get up and put it back in her mouth. somebody told me I should try to teach her to put the paci back in her mouth by herself. She's already reaching for things and can hold the (when awake, of course), and some times she would take the pacifier out of her mouth, hold it for a second and then put it back in her mouth. But... how do I teach her to reach for it at night and put it in her mouth? Is that a skill too advanced for her age? Thanks!

My daughter is almost 8 months and has no interest in solid food. I know that all babies develope differently, and I'm not conserned. I'm just wondering if anyone elses babys were late bloomers in the food department. When did they finally get an interest in solid food?

My daughter won't open her mouth for it, and spits it out. She turns her head away. She doesn't watch me eat or try to eat my food. She just has none of the signs of being ready.

I was wondering if anyone had advice, my 6 month old son, has always been sort of a troubled sleeper with frequent wakings, but I kept hoping it was his age and he would grow out of it. He is a cat napper, usually about 3 naps of 40 minutes or so, sometimes 4 of about 30 minutes. The past few weeks he has been sleeping great from about 9-3 am, then at 3 am like clockwork he is waking, and then from then on every hour he is up. So we are up at 3,4,5, bottle at 6ish, and then up around 7 or 8 am for the day. He just had his check up last week, all was healthy, no ear infection or congestion, could he maybe teething? Could he be getting used to me coming in and getting him up? What do you think about separation anxiety. I had been home with him since birth in March and the end of August headed back to college full time all day, and my mother babysits my two sons, could he be missing me? Any adice would be so very greatly appreciated. I know if he misses me that is ok, just getting tired:)

We have yet to decide on a boy's name for this baby. So far it's down to just a few names... Cliff Ellis(or maybe Elias), Cliff Andrew, and Cliff Gavin. We both like these names so it's pretty much a toss of the 3-sided coin here, we just can't decide. Cliff is a family name on her side that we want to use and the middle names are names that we've picked out and like. I don't much like the name Cliff for a baby so I will probably use his middle name and call him either Eli, Andrew, or Gavin. Which one do you think is best?

If the baby is a girl though, we do have a name picked out - Samantha Lillian. Samantha after my brother Samuel who was killed 6 years ago (in 6 days) and Lillian because we both really like the name. What do you think of this one?

This is my 6th child (brothers James Timmothy (Timmy), Douglas Jackson (Dougie), Markus Paul & Mattias Petr (Mark & Matt) and sister Katherine Kelsey(Katie)) and this is her 3rd (brothers Kyle Henry & Douglas Jackson(Dougie))

This will be my son's first Halloween, he's going to be almost nine months at the time. Do you think it's ridiculous of me to dress him in a costume and maybe trick or treat at the neighbor's houses we know--just for fun? My husband does--I was just wondering if it's just me or if first holidays are really that important?

I had a baby 3mo and 1 day ago...yay me! But I need help...is this just me? Does Breastfeeding reduce sx drive? I have no desire to have sx. I think about it and want to but my body is non responsive to any initiation. IS it the hormones? We tried recently and all I could think about were he better not touch my breast because those r hers. I try to get my mind to focus on him but its no use, Im just not easily turned on. It takes about 20 minutes of foreplay and I still dont really enjoy it. Is it just me or have others experienced this?

I have a two-week-old little girl who is having a really hard time pooping and she has diarreah when it finally comes out. She's not burping well...could that be part of the problem? We asked the doctor what we should do and he suggested we stick a lubricated thermometer up there...which only works part of the time. She seems pretty uncomfortable. Do any experienced moms or dads have any other suggestions on how to make it come out easier? It breaks my heart to watch her grunt and groan.

This is a serious question, so please...no immature comments.

Thanks for your answers!
