Experts are finding out that giving babies cereal or other foods before 4-6 months is causing a lot of food allergies and can cause kids to become obese, and that leads to diabetes. It is not worth the risk. Talk to your baby's doctor.

I fed my daughter infant food from the jars (it is recommended for 3 - 6 month olds), and pablum beginning at 3/4 months. However I found that with the pablum I had to dilute it a lot, it made her quite constipated. So I just fed her the fruit stuff from the jars and once a day I put one spoonful of pablum in her bottle. You might have to buy a larger nipple so she can suck it through easily.

They need to learn about the texture and doctors recommend that you start solids at 6 months. Babies under 6 months can choke. When she is ready, it should be watery at first then you gradually thicken it as they get older. These are some signs your baby is ready for solids: She has good control of her head. She is able to sit upright in a highchair or infant chair. Her mouth opens wide when it is offered.

I STARTED ALL SEVEN OF MY CHILDREN ON RICE CEREAL THE DAY THEY CAME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL. THOSE BABIES ARE HUNGRY FROM JUST FORMULA. THAT IS WHY SOME BABIES ARE DRINKING TWO CANS A DAY, WHICH IS TOO MUCH. FOR ONE, PABLUM IS VERY EASY TO DIGEST. THEY SLEPT LONGER AFTER A FEEDING. THE BABY NIGHTS AND MY NIGHTS WERE SO COMFORTABLE BECAUSE THEY WOULD SLEEP FOR MORE THAN THREE OR FOUR HOURS. YOU ONLY START THEM WITH A HALF OF TEASPOON WHEN THEY FIRST COME HOME. A WEEK LATER YOU START A TEASPOON. EACH WEEK YOU INCREASE IT. THEN EVENTUALLY THEY ARE EATING A LOT OF IT. I MUST SAY, ALL OF MY CHILDREN ARE VERY HEALTHY. NONE OF THEM ARE OVERWEIGHT. NONE OF THE PABLUM WOULD CAUSE THEM TO BE OVERWEIGHT, IT'S ALL OF THAT OTHER JUNK THAT PEOPLE FEED THEIR BABIES. AT THREE MONTHS I INTRODUCED MY BABIES TO CERTAIN VEGGIES. THEN AT FOUR MONTHS I INTRODUCED THEM TO CERTAIN FRUITS. BY SIX MONTHS THEY WERE EATING MEATS. NOW MY BABY IS 14 MONTHS. SHE IS TWENTY FIVE POUNDS. SHE IS VERY HEALTHY AND HAPPY. SHE TALKS, WALKS, AND SHE IS ALMOST DONE POTTY TRAINING. I HOPE I WAS ABLE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.
