We have yet to decide on a boy's name for this baby. So far it's down to just a few names... Cliff Ellis(or maybe Elias), Cliff Andrew, and Cliff Gavin. We both like these names so it's pretty much a toss of the 3-sided coin here, we just can't decide. Cliff is a family name on her side that we want to use and the middle names are names that we've picked out and like. I don't much like the name Cliff for a baby so I will probably use his middle name and call him either Eli, Andrew, or Gavin. Which one do you think is best?

If the baby is a girl though, we do have a name picked out - Samantha Lillian. Samantha after my brother Samuel who was killed 6 years ago (in 6 days) and Lillian because we both really like the name. What do you think of this one?

This is my 6th child (brothers James Timmothy (Timmy), Douglas Jackson (Dougie), Markus Paul & Mattias Petr (Mark & Matt) and sister Katherine Kelsey(Katie)) and this is her 3rd (brothers Kyle Henry & Douglas Jackson(Dougie))

We didn't use Samuel for a boy's name because that was my brother's name. It just seems very weird to call someone else by his name. I also think it would be somewhat unfair to my older boys that this baby gets the name Samuel and not them. When Sam and I grew up EVERYTHING was always Johnny & Samuel this, Samuel & Johnny that, I think it would just be too weird to have someone else be like my other half. But I would really love to give the name to a baby girl. I think that's much more appropriate.

I like the name Andrew, but if Cliff must be the first name, then Cliff Andrew would be my choice.Elias goes well too though.or even Andrew Elias, thats cute. And with the girls name, I like it,also the meaning behind it.So choose whichever means most to you.

Wow the Brady Bunch. I'm sorry but I can't picture a tiny little baby named Cliff, maybe in the 60's and 70's but whatever you guys like. It is nice to honour people but keep in mind, this baby is an individual and deserves an original name. I personally think family names and honourary names are better as middle names.

You talked about naming a girl Sam but why not the boy?

I think Sam is alot better than Cliff.

Samuel Andrew and Samuel Gavin both sound good.
Or even, you have to admit Samuel Cliff sounds good too.

Samantha Lillian sounds beautiful. Perhaps you might want to shorten up the Lillian and make it a Lily. I think Samantha Lily also sounds great, not as reserved.

Congrats!

Personally, I think Gavin Cliff sounds the best. Why not use Cliff as the middle name?

I like the name Cliff Samuel. That way both names have meaning and you can call him Sam. I think you should remember your brother no matter what the sex of the child. It would be a very special homage.

I like Andrew and Gavin. But it really depends on the last name. Why did you rule out Samual? then you could call him Sam? Just a thought.

best way to choose is go out side and yell out the full name (as if in trouble or calling them from a distance) if it sounds funny or doesn't sound right then continue til you find that perfect name.

make sure to use the last name too.

i did it with both my kids.
Dakota Leigh for boy (we both liked the name but Lee is traditional for boy's spelling but we like it spelled Leigh better)
Angelica Loren for girl this name has real meaning to it. Loren was my father's middle name and when he was in the hospital with cancer my sister gave every one in the family angel coins (pocket angels) and pins. she taped my dad's angel coin to the inside (palm) of his hand cause he was in a coma and couldn't hold it. then when my daughter was born there were some complications so the name Angelica (Angel) fits her perfectly.

After 6 children you are a pro!! Just choose the name that has the most meaning to your family. Then it will be a choice you will never regret!
