If they determine that a beating by the father is 1) what caused the preterm labor and/or 2) caused injuries to the baby that caussed the babies death AND 3) that the baby would have lived had it been a term baby - absolutely he can be held responsible. But they have to be able to prove that he beat the mother and either caused the preterm labor and that is why the baby died or that he caused injuries to the baby that caused the babies death. I have heard of a case that they baby was not injured, but the mother was under extreme stress (because of the beatings) and that is what caused her to go into labor and the baby sould have lived had he been a term baby. The father wound up going to prison for it because he caused the stress (by beating the mother) that caused the preterm labor and lead to the babies death.

Possibly, it depends on what state you live in. There would also need to be a finding that the beating caused the baby's premature birth. You should seek out the help of an attorney in your area. Contact the police directly if you cannot afford an attorney.

possibly, especially if there is documented proof of "beatings" prior to the pregnancy and during it!
in MY personal opinion I think anyone who beats another living creature, animal or human should rot! but Im not a judge so....
if it went to court and the mothers dr testified that he/she thought there was a beating that caused premature delivery then the chances of being held accountable are higher!

I belive in Callifornia yes. You have to proove the beating caused the labor which caused the death. You need to contact the police, first off as that is abuse and he should be in jail for beating the mother in the first place and also contact a lawyer in your town that will know the rules there. Also the drs I belive are required to report suspected abuse. You may not be able to procute because the baby was under 25 weeks.

It will be very difficult to prove. If you are insinuating that the alleged father had beaten the pregnant mother, it was the mother's responsibility to have filed a police report against him. You need a lawyer, however, the babie's mother might not get to far with this case. Good luck.

like rikki said, the only best place to get answers is checking with the police. I would say yes, if there is proof the beatings or stress caused the labour, Iwould guess he could be charged

If any fetus has a heart beat I think you can.
For the simple fact the fetus was alive with a pulse.
