Are you sure he's waking up because he's hungry? Is it maybe that he doesn't like being in a wet diaper? Or is it just that he has never taught himself how to get comfortable and get back to sleep once he wakes up? How long do you let it go before you run in there and tend to him? You should give him a little while to resituate and resettle and maybe fall back to sleep before you rush to his side with a bottle. I know it's hard to not go to him right away to see what he needs....but they DO also need to learn how to comfort themselves and get themselves back to sleep....if he doesn't start learning that now, then when he's 2 and 3 he'll be getting out of bed to come sleep with you...or worse...won't even go to bed without you. If that's what you want to deal with for the next few years then ignore me. I can't speak for you...I can only speak for myself....and I know I treasure the fact that my 12 month old sleeps from 8pm to somewhere between 7 and 8am every night....plus takes two hour and a half (at least) naps during the day.
Try feeding him cereal before putting him in bed for the night. If he won't take it from a spoon then put it into a bottle. The more full their little tummies feel when they go to sleep the longer they will sleep.

I had a son that woke up 8-11 times per night at that age and I never found a solution. My impression is that some infants don't have strong sleep patterns and will wake up.
If it really is a hunger problem, a new study available on the Internet shows that proteins really do delay a hunger response. I think fat sits around longer than carbs as well. However, I don't know if a 7 month old can eat any proteins or fats through food.
Grains are carbs but they are probably better than liquids when it comes to remaining in the stomach.

You can give what is called a "dream feed" if you have feed a while before you go to sleep.
You dont need to wake the baby you just feed the next feed early while they are sleeping. feed and put straight back down.
It might give you an extra couple of hours!!
Good luck.

Do you feed him/her three to four hours during the day also? Have you started feeding him/her baby food yet? If your answer is Yes! to the first question and No! to the second. Then try feeding him/her baby food and feed him/her every fiv to six hours instead. If it is Yes! to both questions then feed him/her three times a day then before he/she goes to bed give him/her one thing of baby food and a healthy size bottle of 2% milk or formula, before he/she goes to bed. This should help him sleep alot better and help you too!!

Don't start feeding him cereal until your doctor oks it. If he's bottle fed, you might try giving him an ounce or two more formula at the last feeding so he won't be as hungry. Or try to nurse a little longer if breastfeeding. But he's only 7 months. You'll really just have to wait til he grows up a little more.

I did this for both of my kids.Get some of the powdered baby cereal from Gerber and add some to his formula. It will thicken it up and should keep him full till the morning. Just make sure that the formula is coming out of the nipple. If you need to, you can make the holes in the nipple a little bit bigger so the the formula will be able to come out. Also, you can try giving him a warm bath with the Johnsons and Johnsons bedtime formula. It had lavender and chamomile and works wonders. It smells great to. Well I hope this info helps you out.

Funnily enough i dreamt i'd fed my son but hadn't, this was at 6 weeks old and he never woke up for another feed!!!!
However, this isn't highly recommended!!! It might just be comfort he needs, not food. i helped my little boy sleep by laying him on top of the top i'd been wearing all day so he could smell me while he slept and felt secure. This might help.

At 7 months that is perfectly normal. My daughter did the same during the day, but through all night.

At 7 months, they usually get up once for bottle or feeding at night. You really need to feed him rice cereal before bed.

They say if you put your baby's crib with the head towards the North Star it helps them sleep better.
Plus, it sounds like you need to start some Gerber baby food.
