I have a wedding to go to tomorrow night, and will be gone for approximately 8 hrs or so. I have been breastfeeding my daughter since birth, and she refuses to take anything but breastmilk. I have tried every stinking formula out there but she just spits it back out and refuses to take it. I cant pump, no idea why, but I can try pumping for two hours straight and I am lucky if I get 2 ozs out of my breasts. She will be a year old next month, and was wondering if giving her regular milk just for one or two feedings tomorrow would cause a prob....if she likes it anyway..she might not. Thanks for your advice.

I am totally in love with the name Bryant, but my husband thinks everyone will think his name is Bryan and end up calling him that. I don’t want my son to have to go life saying my name is Bryant...with a “T”. What do you think? I am thinking maybe Bryant would make a better middle name. If you think it would make a better middle name than first name, what first name would you put with it?

I am the mother of a 7 month old baby girl. She usually sleeps through the night but lately she has been waking up occasionally. Her father is a stay-at-home dad. I work full time outside of the home and I wake up to feed the baby whenever she wakes up in the night or early morning. As a result, I am exhausted at work. Shouldn't the parent who stays home wake up for night feedings?

the first grandchild in our family was just born 2 days ago! i am so excited over having a baby in the family (my sis's baby) and i love going to see him and the parents of course and holding the baby! i could hold him for hours on end! well i think my fiance is feeling deglected because i am constantly talking about the baby and wanting to go see him after we get off of work. i am trying really hard to make sure i pay attention to my fiance and spend time with him, but i still think he is feeling this way! i know you may say it is shildish blah blah, but when you go from focusing 110% of your time on someone then go to spending alot of that time on the baby it is a big huge change! i understand where he is coming from because i would feel the same way if roles were reversed! we live together so we are together all the time, but i am trying my hardest to give him attn, and talk to him alot and all. is this normal or what do i need to do to balance the time. tonight i told himwe would

My 11 week old son goes to bed at 10pm after his bottle, and doesn't wake until 8am. I've been told I should wake him to feed him over night because this is too long to go without milk, but it seems mad to deprive myself of sleep when not necessary. Any advice?

We are looking into buying the JJ Cole Premaxx Infant Sling. Does anyone have any comments? How easy it is to use with an older baby (6months and above)? Is it worth the money? Is it easy to adjust? Does it stay in the position you put it in or does it constantly need readjusting? Any comments regarding this sling would be appreciated.

That's the recommendation and I'm all for it but have you done or tried to do this? How did it work and when did it fail if it failed?

We want to put our 5 wk old in day care, but they told us that even if we don't bring him in some days we would still be getting charged for it, so we have to put him in family child care.

My question is what type of questions do I ask when I interview these people?? I kind of have trust issues especially with people who are going to be taking care of my baby, and how much should they get pain hourly?? This is my first baby, and I've never dealt with babysitters or anything before..

Any advice would be helpful..

My baby has pimples all over his face, arms and neck?? Is that normal, I mean I know they have to go through changes and all with their skin, but it just looks horrible... Is there anything I can do to make them go away faster?

First I do not want to hear I am not paying enough for my nanny. But My nanny is a live out and when she comes to work she lays down on the couch and goes to sleep. She has not got her CPR certification. She had a car when she came for the interview now we are taking her home. Also she want to stary 2 night a week at the house. My wife and I said ok to the 2 days now she is wanting to stay the whole week. we only pay her 150.00 a week and we we intervied her she said that will be just fine. now she is wanting 300 to 500 a week. We have twins can not afford this if we could we would have them in day care. We can go to 200 a week. She does not clean there room she will pick up what she eats during the day. We do not think she is working with the kids enough. She is a very nice person good with kids but just to watch them not nanny them. We are not sure if we should sit down with her and set more strick groud rules or should we just let her go.

Please be specific about what changes you experienced once you stopped breastfeeding and let me know how long you breastfed your baby. Also, did you all find that your breasts were more saggy once you stopped?

Formula milk gives approx quantities, breast fed babies drink what they want - but if breast milk is put into a bottle - how much should they drink. It's digested quicker than formula - so should they eat more? Having said that - it's nutritionally better, so maybe less???

I have been pumping since her 2nd weeks because my nipples hurt so much with her latching on. Now I get used to it. The only thing frustrated me so much is the washing part! Have to wash the pumping parts, the funnel, connectors, membranes, valves, the pumping bottles, the feeding bottles,.. man!! I want to hear back from you if you do face the same frustration too!

(and I have a question: What do you use to wash the bottles? Is it safe to use dish wash liquid that we use in kitchen? Is it good not to use any detergent but only hot water?)

my son is almost 6 months old. he has slept with my husband and i since birth (no ridicule please, i know it's not reccomended but it works for us). lately he wants to play at bed time and no matter what i do he won't settle down. my husband says put him in the crib until he falls asleep but it breaks my heart to think he would cry himself to sleep. is it something i should try or do you think he's not ready to "cry it out"?
