Well to be honest if your son was hungry he would let you know. As long as he is dirtying diapers frequently and doesn't appear to be losing weight, he is well hydrated and just fine. If you feel your son is full and content then continue doing what you are doing. Once you have a child EVERYONE wants to give you advice. From what I have learned in school, a child should only be woke up at night to be feed if the child was a preemie (preemies need to catch up and should not miss any meals), or if the child is not gradually gaining weight. Speak with your doctor. More Questions? Email me. Congrats.

If your doctor said to wake him then do so, but my doctor told me to let my daughter sleep through the night if she was doing so. He said she was obvioulsy getting enough food through the day.
Babies need 12-15 hours of sleep a day, so sleeping 10 at night should be fine. Eventually he'll go to bed ealrier and still sleep long. My daughter sleeps from 7:30pm-7:00am.

Babies need 14-18 hours of sleep. If he has a bottle at bed and sleeps through the night you're lucky. Ask your pediatrician if this is okay and if it is get your rest when he's down.

Just be grateful that you have a baby who sleeps, and you're right, it's silly to wake him just because other people say so. Your son will let you know if he's hungry, and it's perfectly fine to let him sleep all night. Don't worry, and don't wake him!

As long as your son is gaining weight then I wouldn't be concerned, it sounds like he is getting plenty of milk in the day and that's keeping him content through the night. Enjoy a good nights rest!

I called my doctor with the same question and his answer to me was "stop bragging about your infant"... LOL LOL ... He told me that the baby will wake up and eat when he needs to and that as long as he doesn't have his days and nights mixed up that it is ok to let him sleep when/how long he wants. Hope this helps you.

I quote Dr. Spock--"Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do". If you feel your baby is fine, then he's fine. Some babies sleep right through, some don't. You're a lucky one in that your baby does sleep. If he's hungry, he'll wake up and let you know!

If your baby is crying, that means your baby is uncomfortable and wants something. If the baby wants to sleep, let the baby sleep unless your baby is not eating or is sick or show beggining signs of sickness. If you dont feel comfortable, its best to get advice from doctors.

babies do whats best for them. If they are hungry they will wake up on there own. If your baby is healthy and doesn't seem dehydrated then I wouldn't worry about it at all. My doctor told me to not wake my child to eat. They know when they are hungry not us.

ha ha you are damn lucky that you have a good baby. as long as he is at a healthy weight for his age i wouldnt worry about it. but if he is under weight you definately need to feed him more.
or change his feeding schedule so that he eats less more frequently so that he wakes himself up at the right time. but like i said-so long as he isn't under weight you are in the clear.
