My son did the same thing. I either do it while he's asleep now, or during his snack time my husband feeds his some applesauce or yogurt (anything off of a spoon so my son doesn't need to use his hands) while I clip them. It usually works well because he's distracted with eating his snack.
Good luck!!

Distraction is the key! Give her a favorite toy, sing to her, have her eat cheerios. Try not to make a big deal over it either and don't hold her down to do it.
I used to cut my kids nails when they were nursing or drinking a bottle. They were so excited to get food that they didn't realize their nails were being clipped. To this day I never have any issues and they are 4 1/2 and almost 3.
Good luck!

My little monster also freaks and throws his arms about every time I try to cut his nails - my advice, and this definitely works for me, is do it while they're asleep. When a baby is in a deep sleep, this shouldn't wake them up. Hope this works

You can try making a silly sound every time you clip. My 17 month old thinks it's hilarious when I say "boing" every time I use the clippers!

My son used to be the same way, until I started blowing on the clippers and he thinks it is funny now and will hold out his hand to get it done, try to make a game of it.

Either do it while she is sleeping or turn on Barney or Winnie the Pooh (or whatever she likes). The TV works for clipping my son's fingernails but I have to do his toenails while he is sleeping (and he still kicks while I'm doing it).

Try turning on the tv to a show she likes. that will keep her distracted while you trim her nails.

You can either do it while she is asleep (a very good time). Or get them distracted with something they like to do or even while eating.

I have the same problem, the way I cut my babies fingernail/toenails is to count to three and try to get her to count with me. Maybe it would work with you too.
