Please save those explanations for your children. I don't ask for explanations. Now if you feel like you have to explain yourself there are lots of therapists who would gladly listen to you.

I have a happy, alert 4 month old that doesn't sleep all that much during the day. Do you have any ideas for fun things to do with her? I do the usual, sing the usual (itsy bitsy spider, this little piggy), play toys, practice rolling over. I know i'm getting bored and i wouldn't doubt she is too. I'm not creative and feel like we're in a rutt! any suggestions?

My baby girl is 8 months old and she is only 21 pounds (in a sopping wet diaper) and since we've moved to Texas, everyone seems to have these whale children and my daughter is the subject of constant ridicule, i.e.: "Do you all feed her 'nough food?" and "Oh my she's a tiny lil' thang." (insert annoying Texan drawl, which amplifes the annoyingness of it all) Well, let's see, she was breastfed for 6 months, she's very mobile and adventerous, she can already walk...so she's probably burning off the chunks she did have. So sorry about that. Next time I have a baby (if ever) I will get them a pork lard IV and sit them in a play pen all day with heaps of snacks. How do you reply to this assanine crap while being cordial and humane to people?

He'll fall asleep and then wake back up. It takes 2 hrs. Once he's alsleep, he only wakes up for his feedings. During the day, he does the same thing but a little bit longer. I think its the heat (I'm in SoCal). Its driving my husband insane and I'm starting to get really tired. I need help!

I know the dr recommends 6 weeks. With my 1st child i only waited 3 1/2 weeks...no problems! Also i tore with the first one. I did not tear with this baby and the hormones have kicked in. I am so ready to have sex but a little scared that it is too soon. Any advice on safety issues?

I'm asking this on behalf of my wife. Our newborn (2 weeks) son had trouble starting to breast feed but soon got into it along with my wife. Now my wife finds it VERY painful (cracked nipples etc...). She has checked with the midwife that she is doing it correctly (latching on etc) and everything seems okay. She now wants to stop breast feeding (even though we'd prefer to stay with breast feeding) and move to bottled feeds (we have tried a bottle with him and he seems ok with it). Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

our 7 month old loves going out with us and we always carry her baby food but when it comes to dessert we were wondering if she can share ours - we both usually order vanilla ice cream and we dont want to start her on chocolate for atleast 2 years.

My 4 month old has trouble sleeping occasionally and I've been told to let her 'cry it out'. I tried this once and will never do it again because it was so traumatic for her and me. Is anyone else against this? Or is it just me and my baby is going to end up spoiled?

I have a little boy who is 1 year old. I breastfed him exclusively for the first 6 months of his life. After 6 months I began to give him solids but I continued to breastfeed him. At this moment he eat breast milk 3 times a day, in the morning when he wakes up, at noon, after lunch and in the evening, before bed. Some people say me to stop because my milk doesn't have any value anymore, they say that my milk is just like the water. I want to continue to breastfeed him for a few months more. He loves those moments. And me too.

2. Was he/she nursed or bottle fed? For how long?
3. What food did he/she first self feed?
4. At what age did you introduce solids?
5. When did the child start walking? talking?
