I have a happy, alert 4 month old that doesn't sleep all that much during the day. Do you have any ideas for fun things to do with her? I do the usual, sing the usual (itsy bitsy spider, this little piggy), play toys, practice rolling over. I know i'm getting bored and i wouldn't doubt she is too. I'm not creative and feel like we're in a rutt! any suggestions?

Long walks with her in the stroller as long as she is facing where she can see everything rather than just looking at you. It will be good for both of you.

Even though she'll only be 4 months, toys suitable for 6 months + a good idea as she'll be ready for them in no time at all. Things that make noises with flashing lights and buttons are fun. Or 6-9 clothes... As a mum, I always found it slightly annoying when someone bought something for my sons exact age as we'd never get use out of it! She'll already have clothes in her current size (3-6) and toys... stick with 6 months +

I work at a daycare in the infant room, enough said! Get a big peice of material or paper, put paint on it, get her naked and let her play in the paint, after that put her in the tub! lol Water play, jello play, whip cream play, put her in a excersaucer and let her step on wet or squishy things. Mostly senceory play :) Baby einstein videos, tummy time with new light up toys to reach out to, Bubbles, long walks in a stroller or carrier. Have fun! :)

my baby is the same age, and your question amused me a lot. not a whole lot we can do, but I have a couple ideas. I turn on the radio and we dance in the kitchen. your baby may be big enough to sit in a baby swing outdoors. And pick a book with colorful pages and talk to your baby about the book. just looking at the book and hearing your voice is a great thing you can do for your baby. they are almost ready for a walker or a babygym.

Read a story to her. She might not really understand it but looking at colorful pictures is great for her imagination and brain development. Go for walks outside, sit outside with her on your lap and blow bubbles, dance around the room with her, peek-a-boo, etc. There's plenty to do, just look around and you'll come up with something. :)

Have you tried finger puppets? You can easily make them with coloured paper. Baby would stare at your fingers and laugh everytime you twist or turn the puppets. I have a 4-month old son and he loves this. Happy parenting ;)
