It is for some women. If the bleeding stops ever gets much heavier when it's supposed to be getting lighter, though, contact your midwife or doctor. It's *probably* not a problem, but better to be sure.

Six weeks is the average. For some women it is longer, for others it is shorter. With my first it was almost exactly 6 weeks. With my second it was closer to 5. If you bleed for longer than 6 weeks or have any unusual color or odor associated with the bleeding you should check with your doctor.

mine lasted about 6 weeks but you should have your 6 week postpartum visit comin up and your doctor will ask you if you're still bleeding and stuff. If you're worried just give your doc a call or talk to one of the nurses..

It was for me. I continued to bleed for a good six weeks. After that is wasnt as heavy, but still continued. If you have any concerns you should call your doctor's office and ask one of the nurses. They should beable to give you some good information and make you feel better.

Depends, are you still bleeding from the birth? I bled until about 5 weeks after and then got my period a week later and the doc said it was all normal.

Hey bleeding for longer time after birth in normal in ladies.
Its bleed for around 21 - 25 days.
But if it still bleeding longer then it is highly recommended to visit doctor for that matter otherwise it may end up is higher complication.
Bye ...........

Yes, it is. I was still bleeding when I went back for my 6 week check. May not be a lot of fun, but it is "normal".

I'm not sure if it is normal, but it was normal for me, around the 9th week or so i finally got fed up and went back to the obgyn, he said there was nothing wrong, and if it doesn't stop soon i could put me on birth control.

I had 5 children and i bled for 6 to 8 weeks for each child. just make sure you take it easy. if you start feeling sleepy all a sudden sit down and put you feet up for a wile it will help.
