You can, but you will produce less milk (typically--*not* every woman), so you will lose less weight, and your baby is more likely to need supplements. And there isn't much research on the differences in mothers who breastfeed and those who pump, so there's no way to be *sure*.

yes, it requires a lot of energy (calories) from your body to produce breast milk. it doesnt matter if it is a baby drinking or a pump extracting milk from your breast it will still burn the same amount of calories.

If you are pumping the same amount that your baby is drinking at each feeding, then you will either maintain your weight, unless you are currently losing. You will have to maintain the same schedule as your baby. If you pump less, make sure you reduce your calorie intake accordingly, or you will baloon once you stop nursing. It happened to me.

Yes but you must also diet cause I breastfed and pupm my milk for about 10 months and I still look like im pregnant

yes...pumping your breast milk burns just as many calories as if it were the baby on there...
