Well, naturally there is nothing wrong with it. However, we live in a society where this type of thing is still felt as being taboo.

Personally, I am uncomfortable when I see a woman breastfeeding in a public place, like at the mall. Many places now have family restrooms or breastfeeding rooms. That is a much better idea, if you ask me.

However, if none are available, I think the women who breastfeed ought to find a place that is a little more secluded and private. If none can be found, then go ahead and do it where you are.

I think that nursing in public is just fine. What people that judge don't realize is that some of us would never be able to leave the house without nursing in public. When my son was small he was eating all the time and I would have gone crazy sitting in the house all day long, so I just got used to nursing in public. It is a perfectly natural and beautiful thing.

How in the world could that possibly be sick? Nursing is the most natural thing. The only way I could see is being considered "sick" is if you were nursing a 11 year old boy.

I think nursing in public is perfectly fine. Why should your child have to go hide inside while they eat? Nobody else has to do that so why should your baby? But I think it is a little weird if you're just letting it all hang out, you should probably use a blanket or something so the baby has privacy.

There are places that encourage breastfeeding mothers to breastfeed at their location. Starbucks is one and so is Burger King. I think its wonderful to do but I have actually been asked to leave a certain national fast food chain because I was breastfeeding my 5 day old. And yes I had a blanket covering me and no one could see anything. Lawsuit is in the works. I hope that all breastfeeding mommies do it in public and not resort to using a bottle.

Personally, I think that all women should breastfeed their kids. It is very good for the child. It is a lot better for them than formula.
I don't see why people get all defensive when people are breastfeeding. I do see a problem when their boob is all hanging out, but I don't see a problem when they have a blanket over it. God put boobs on us so we can feed our children.
Do you want to eat in the bathroom, then why would you make a mother feed her BABY in there??

Public nursing is just fine...the baby has to eat. As long as its done with a receiving blanket over you and baby...I don't have a problem with it. I did it, and didn't give a hoot what people thought. Irefused to feed my child in a dirty bathroom.

I have nursed in public, but very dicsreetly. I don't do it to broadcast what I do, and I hate it when people do it and make some scene about it, feed your baby and get er done, and go about your business. No one cares, and people deserve respect not to see your breasts.

I think it's the most beautiful thing! Before i had children i thought it was weird, of course because i was formula fed and didn't know any better. So now that i'm breastfeeding it feels so nice to be able to just lift your shirt and go. I love it :)

I think it's perfectly normal, natural, and healthy. Always use discression. Carry a thin receiving blanket to cover up, so that nothing is exposed, and no one will even notice.
