I know the dr recommends 6 weeks. With my 1st child i only waited 3 1/2 weeks...no problems! Also i tore with the first one. I did not tear with this baby and the hormones have kicked in. I am so ready to have sex but a little scared that it is too soon. Any advice on safety issues?

Well I understand what you are going through, I was the same way! My favorit book ever to read when I was pregnent was What To Expect When You Are Expecting. I looked it up and it said that you are able to have sex when ever You feel like you are ready!!!! So be careful and have fun!

I may get a little graphic and I'm sorry about that. It isn't meant to be "dirty" but more of an educational tool.

But basically, it is best to wait six to eight weeks for healing, and one reason being, that you want your vagina to be as tight as possible during sex, and that's what men like.

One of the reasons my first marriage failed is because after I had my first child, I wasn't so "tight" anymore and my husband complained about that, although he was the one who was impatient about having sex only days after I had my firstborn.

We were already broken up by the time I was pregnant with my second child. When I gave birth, I asked my doctor to stitch me up in a way where a man could have more enjoyable sex afterwards.

Needless to say, since I didn't have a man I didn't have sex again for several years, but when I finally did, I never got such complaints again. Also, I never had another child after I had my second one, now in her late 20s.

So my advice is to wait for as long as you possibly can for sex. If he can't wait, give your man oral sex, and if you can't wait, go for clitoral stumulation, because it is better than nothing.

Doctors will recommend waiting 6 weeks, but I've heard of some who say about 4 weeks, whenever you feel ready. I made my husband wait 9 weeks after our 1st daughter, cause I was scared that it would hurt, but I only waited 4 after our 2nd daughter & I was fine. You should ask your doctor & see how YOU feel.

I'd wait at least the 6 weeks until, or at least til you've stopped bleeding for at least 2 weeks. Think about it like this it takes 6 weeks for a bone to heal your tissue needs just as long to heal corectly or you could have a problem . But We has sex (with a condom after 5 weeks ) but I waited til i got birth control before we had sex with out one.

You really should wait, maybe not 6 weeks but at least 4.Your body has been through an enormous amount of stress and strain and needs time to recover and heal itself.YOu may feel all great and ready to go but you need to take this time to rest and give your body time to recuperate.

I'd wait until your lochia flow has stopped. Be sure to use condoms, nothing worse than being pregnant at your six week check up! That happened to my mom's friend! Her kids are 11 months apart! You may need to use lube, I'd recommend
Astroglide. Doctors tend to be more cautious than midwives. Midwives tend to say to resume relations when you feel like it. The six week time limit is to help your uterus get back to it's prepregnancy state and to prevent getting pregnant so early. Goos luck!

What did your doctor tell you? I know each time I had a baby the doctor told me either NO SEX or use protection because you will get pregnant again right after having a baby. I say listen to the doctor.

wow! I can't believe you're ready after only 11 days! you must be a machine!

if you feel ready then go to your doctor and have him check you out. better to err on the side of caution and get his approval this soon after delivery. have you already stopped bleeding? I would definitely wait until the bleeding stops or you could get an internal infection.

I had a baby four weeks ago. I waited three weeks. I havent gone in yet for my six week appt yet- obviously! :) But it didnt hurt or anything... so if you think your ready.. just try. If it hurts when you start, then just stop. I was scared too, but I just told him Ill try and if I cant- I CANT. At least he knew, and they never want to hurt you. So go ahead.

Whenever you feel ready I would say go for it. I never waited six weeks with either of my kids. I think the longest was 2 weeks.
