Why would you want to? There is nothing that shows more love than when you spoil a child.

Granted, not everyone should do it, and limits should still be set, but it is nice to know that some people love you enough to bend the rules for you.

The best memories I have of my childhood is precisely of my grandparents who spoiled me rotten, because to me that showed me that they were the people who loved me most because of it, and today I really miss them after they have been dead for several decades now.

Also it is great for your significant other to do the same for you. One example happened this morning: My husband worked the night shift, and I asked him to get me a frozen cappuccino from a local establishment on his way home. The establishment isn't on his way home, and I could have easily taken what I had at home and made it myself. Some would have thought of that to be unreasonable. I knew it was unreasonable to even ask him to do this for me when I had all the ingredients to make it at home. But in the end, it wasn't the cappuccino, but the fact that he loved me enough to do this for me. And that's exactly what I value most in personal relationships, whether it was with your grandparents, parents or your significant other.

So no, don't discourage your family from spoiling him. But at the same time, draw a line between it, because it can't be one hundred percent one way, or one hundred percent the other. There should be room for both.

Awwwww Congratulations. And so tiny huh ??

Don't worry about your family spoiling them too much just yet. They're only 3 weeks old. Be a little different if you said they were 3 years old !! Newborns thrive on all the love and affections and the warmth. It's what helps them grow.

How is the family spoiling them and why does it make you uncomfortable ??

You cannot spoil a baby who is only 3 weeks old!!! And you can't spoil a child of *any* age by giving long--only by giving *things*. So don't worry.

NEVER. And besides, they are only 3 weeks old, you haven't even seen the beginning of spoiling yet. Trust me. Besides, they are still so little, they need to be spoiled at this age. They need as much comfort and closeness that you can give them.

It's impossible to "spoil" a 3 week old baby.

Don't worry about "spoiling" until they're over a year old.

GOOD LUCK!! If you find out, let me know! I'm sure my baby will be THE most spoiled baby in the world (being the first grandbaby on each side).

Have you tried telling them that you're concerned about them being spoiled? Or setting a "limit" on the spoiling...such as, "Please don't buy them anything unless it's their birthdays or chistmas)." Who knows if this will work since grandparents are DIABOLICAL and can't be stopped! *grin*

Good luck!

You can not spoil a baby, they need lots of love and affection. They also need lots of toys and clothes if thats what your worried about. You can never have to many. Enjoy it!

Let them go ahead and love your quadruplets , they're fairly rare and do require more a lot more special attention than a single baby. you should be grateful to have somebody assist in carrying the load in caring for quads.
