My daughter has been eating solids for almost 2 months now. Ever since we started, she is very interested in grabbing the spoon and eating from it. But she grabs the food part, not the handle, and gets it everywhere. I want to encourage her to discover things on her own, but it makes me dread feeding her. When will she learn? Should I discourage her grabbing the spoon?
Has anyone else had this experience?

I love Pampers Swaddlers, but am curious if there is any other diaper out there as soft as that one?

My baby has a tooth popping up now (barely). Just curious how old your child was when her tooth started to come up.

My baby is almost 5 months old and our pedi told us to start her on "some" solids--very little actually. We have noticed (and were told by our pedi that this could happen) that her formula intake has went down. I know this is her primary source of nutrition still and I'm wondering if I should back off altogether from solids or just give her less. I'm not asking for medical advice--just Mom advice. Obviously, I'm not concerned enough to call the pedi just yet, as I'm trying to work it out by myself because she was eating well before. (And she is definitely not sick, but DEFINITELY teething).

When I put my 4 month old baby to bed at night I always put him on his back, but you can guarantee that he is on his tummy when i go to bed. During the day the only way he can get himself to sleep is by laying on his tummy. I turn him back but he goes straight back again. I am worried sick about cot death and really not sure what I can do.

I understand that the uk give out a leaflets and send a reminder fro the children at the time, but my friend says the ages of children required to have certain jabs has changed including health checks such as hearing/sight/movement etc.

I am a long way off from considering children, but one day these names just popped into my head. Arielle Raven, Bradley Darcy, Jade Sophie, and Owen Mitchell. What do you think? This is for fun, by the way! Nothing too mean!

these shoes look similar to "moccasins". I saw a child with a pair on and the mom said she got them in Canada. I hope to find the web site

My son (almost a year old) wakes from his sleep and goes straight to crying. Wether it's waking in the morning or from his two daily naps... he's always howling. How can I break him from this habit? I've tried letting him cry for a few minutes... placed toys in his crib to keep him occupied when he wakes... I've even stood by his door to catch him as soon as he wakes before he wails to counter the act... but nothing seems to work. Do you have the same problems? Suggestions would be appreciated.

My son (who will be one next week) weighs 25 lbs. 32" tall. I nurse him morning and night (and give milk & water throughout the day). He has his upper and lower 2 front teeth. I know I should break away from the jarred foods... but I'm worried about what he can chew. I think I have a pretty good schedule for him... but am curious to see what other mothers with the same size child feed their children. I should add that both me & my husband are skinny people... so I don't think I'm over feeding my son. He's just a big boy. I would welcome suggestions on finger foods, and how much/oftern you feed them during the day.

He's been eating cereal before bed for over a week, we're going to start feeding him cereal in the a.m. too, now, but what about starting him on baby food? Do I replace a bottle in the afternoon w/ a jar of baby food, or do I do both? And how (baby food first, bottle second?)?

I am wondering where people learned how to breastfeed a baby.
Was it:
- From your mother, or watching your family members nurse?
- At school or college?
- At a hospital class or a doctor?
- At a La Leche League meeting (or similar) ?
- From tv commercials, baby magazines, books, etc?

How were they sources helpful?
What would you have liked to know that they didn't tell you?

My 8 month old does not sleep thru the night, I feed her six meals a day, 3 formula and 3 solids which onclude yougurt, veggies and fruit, she is a small eater to begin with. Until 4 months she slept thru the night but for the last 4 mts she has not, she keeps waking up and then I rock her to sleep sometimes bring her into my bed. SOmetimes she wakes up and is up for an hour in the middle of the night. I have tried feeding her at that time thinking she is hungry but she will barely have an ounce of formula. SHe eats again after a gap of 12 hrs. I don't think she is hungry and therefore waking up. SHe is up almost 4 to 5 times and then i lay near her and pet her to sleep she goes back to sleep but i am sleep deprived
