I am an MD. I have read that the average African American is 30%white, but there is a wide variation. People like Colon Powell former secretary of state probably have more than 50%white based on his light complexion, and others are definitely less than 30% white. Since fully half of your genes come from your father, then in order to have a white baby you would need for your husband or b/f to be over 50% white to begin with and then, just by chance, all of the genes from the white half would need to be in the one sperm that made it to your egg. This is highly unlikely, but not impossible. I once knew an African American couple who were both very light skinned, and one of their 5 children looked absolutely white in every respect, so it is not impossible. But race is becoming less and less of an issue nowadays, and if you love your guy then any child he gives you will be just fine, don't you agree? when you're looking at these kind of genetic issues, it's all about dominant genes. caucasian genes never dominate. so if an asian or african-american have a baby with a caucasian (it doesn't matter which is mother or father), the baby will always be dark. sometimes the degree will vary- light skin, medium or very dark skin. but the only way a baby is coming out white is if two white people are the biological parents.

well they of course cant be completely white in genes wise.
and although it is very unlikely because usually the African American gene overcomes the Caucasian gene....its definitly possible for the baby to appear completely white.

there was this story on twins between bi-racial parents and one was completely black with brown hair and one was completely white with blonde hair.

yes it has nothing to do with your races.. its all in the genetics and chroms. i know a black couple that had twins! one was white and one was black and they had a DNA test and they were the parents. white people can have a black baby. it just depends on the way the chroms line up.
