um, 35 degrees is cold? anyway.. my doctor strictly told me thats it's not okay until a year, they could develop food allergies and thats when their throat could close up.

try vanilla/banilla yogurt, she can have that and she'll love it.

With both nectarine, and ice cream, it's safer to wait until at least a year old. At 8 months, your child is still being introduced to new foods, and it's easier to try one at a time, in case of food allergies. (makes it easier to identify them). Fruits are most often the sourse of food allergies..

As for Ice cream, and all dairy, The child's digestive system isn't entirely able to handle the proteins in cow milk, hence the reason we breast feed, or formula feed for 12 months. After a year, the digestive system is more developed, and able to handle larger proteins, such as dairy and 'real' meat. Probably why they don't start developing molars and 'chewing' teeth until about that age as well.

It being so hot, I would offer small bites of popsicle, pedialite, and other electolite drinks, designed for small children. That way, you can keep her hydrated and comfortable, and offer something 'yummy' as well.

Ice cream should be fine aslong as you are around to make sure your daughter is ok with it. If your daughter has teeth then I would give her some nectarine but I didnt give my daughter some until she had teeth.

Go with the icecream, shell love it

Babies shouldn't have dairy until they hit a year. She could develop food allergies if its given too early - even if its only a little bit. The sugar isn't good for her, either, but I'd be more concerned about the dairy. So, if you have to give her something, try some sorbet or something that only has fruit and no dairy in it.

I gave my daughter a taste when she was that age. Only a little though. It' won't hurt her directly, but remember, once they have something that sweet, they know it's out there, so they may turn their noses up to healthy food that they liked before. And be prepared for lots of crying when you stop feeding her ice cream. It won't matter how full she may be, she'll want more!

instead of ice cream (they could have a problem digesting the cows milk)

give her yogurt. the yobaby stuff is as rich as ice cream and good flavored too. (i recommmend it if you are on diet and crave ice cream) the yogurt is made from milk products but it is broken down so it is less likely to cause her digestive problems. Also, most parents start giving their babies yougurt and cheese around 9 months anyway.

stay cool

Non dairy ice cream for now, until she is a year old. Treat it like cows milk, since thats what its made with. And she isnt supposed to have citruis until a year either, so ( i cant remember) if nectartine is citruis, hold that off and replace it with peaches or banana.

Go right ahead, vanilla though, but the best way to cool her off is in a tepid tub and water to drink. Ice cream is a milk product and milk only makes us thristier.

She's probably a little young for it yet. Like some people said, cow's milk shouldn't be given to her until she is a year of age. Instead of ice cream, try bits of frozen fruit. My little nephews LOVE frozen bananas, and it's so much healthier for them!

as ice cream contains milk you should not gives this to a child who is under a year old as their stomachs cannot digest it properly and it can lead to vomiting or loose stools. Why not try making sorbet which does not contain ant dairy at all and would be fine to give in small quantise as a treat.
