I live with my mom, my sister, and her three little boys (ages 8, 7, and 5)

Three weeks ago the boys started a fire in one the upstairs bedrooms. Inorder not to get into trouble, which they do often, the tried to put the fire out by themselves before notifying anyone. My sister was at home. My mother and I were at work.
The boys never yelled for help. My sister smelled the smoke downstairs and evacuated the house with the boys and cats.
Since then, the boys have been ordered to attended regular therapy sessions.
They have yet to be punished for the deed, as we do not know how to punish such an act, considering the anger we all have. But tension is only growing. And growing faster and stronger everyday.
Help!

My daughter is seven years old and we took her to get her ears pierced. She paniced and backed out at the last moment. She is feeling very upset about this and I was wondering if this is common at this age and what a better age to try again.

i have a 5yr old step son a 5yr and 3yr old and a newborn all girls. we get our son every other weekend and he is totally out of control. his mom lets him do whatever he wants so when he comes over he does whatever he wants and that's not tolerated in my house he spends most of his time in time out. his mom has done something i don't want to go in detail about but we might get custody of him. my husband works nights so it will be me taking care of all four kids i have no one to help me with the kids. i knew this was a posibality when we got married but he behaved better before him and his mom got their own place and now he has no punishment when he does something wrong. do you think he will eventually get the idea that he will have more fun if he behaves? he is very stubborn

I have an 8 year old little girl and I can't seem to get her to be quite in school. She has no problem finishing her work, but she is constantly in trouble for talking. I have tried punishments, ie. grounding, taking away privalleges, spankings and I have also tried possitive reinforcement, ie. awards, get to go to do something fun. But non of these methods seem to work. The teachers always tell me that she is a good student and would be even better if she could refrain herself from talking. Any advise?

This may be TMI, but here goes: My 5 year old daughter is supposed to be starting kindergarten in two weeks, but she is still having issues going #2 in the potty. She knows how to go to the potty (she has no problems with #1), and she has times where she does really well going #2, but she still goes #2 in her pants probably 2-3 times per week. I don't think the school will allow her to begin kindergarten if she is doing this, but I have tried everything to get her to stop, even buying her a toy when she goes in the potty. Anyone else have this problem or am I alone? Any suggestions for how to get her to stop for good?

I don't feel that I have a bond with my 4 year old son. From the day he was born, I haven't really felt a connection. My heart was set on having a girl but when it turned out to be a boy my heart was broken. Now he drives me crazy and we don't get along very well. I feel nothing emotional for him. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Today was the 1st day of back to school for my daughter (4th grade) and she was fine all this morning and up until I walked her to class and hugged her, at which point she broke down into tears telling me that she didn't want me to go and felt like she needed to vomit. I told her that she had to go to school and before she knew it I would be there to pick her up. I calmed her enough to go to class (which she HAD to) and am wondering this question.....should I suprise her by showing up to her lunch today or do you think that would make it worse for her? I really don't know what to do, I wasn't expecting this kind of reaction from her!!

I have a 7 year old son that still cries pretty often. It will just happen randomly. He seems really sensative and I need to find a way to "toughen" him up. He acts his age most of the time but these outburts are getting harder and harder to deal with. Other than these moments he is a happy child. Anyone else have this problem???? When he is asked what the problem is, he says he doesn't want to talk about it and he won't talk about it to anyone or he says nothing that he doesn't know why he is crying.

been in school only 2 days and both days he has come home LIED and said he has no homework...I know a friend of his mother whom I can call...but I know I shouldn't call and pester her EVERY day...I have went through two years of my son doing this...he will lie about not having workwork...and I just will never know unless I call someone...I can't get him to bring home any notes or homework, and I am tired of the lying. I have tried spanking, no tv, no games, rewards, go to bed early, when he donesn't bring home work I will give him tons of MY work.I have thought about doing a chart, kinda like a behavior chart. If you think this is a good idea, give some ideas on it. I have thought about having a chart where he would get a check mark for the things he does wrong such as no homework & lying.the days he gets a check mark he will go to bed an hour early. at the end of the week he gets as many paddle licks as check marks OR if no check marks he can go to blockbuster pic out movie or game
