whatever you do end up sending them please remember what a child brings for lunch can cause teasing and bullying so please keep in mind what you are sending...when i was a kid growing up in ark. i was bringing blue corn chips and organic foods and i can tell you kids were harsh i didn't care but a less thick skinned person may have taken it hard...also please disregard what that other person said school lunches can be some of the WORST food around and anybody that thinks the school lunches are adequate to meet the dietary needs of a child is insane i mean come on ketchup qualifies as a veggie paaallleeease....also most school kitchens don't even cook anymore they just heat up whats premade this is not good also i would be really interested to see the results of a "super size me" style movie or documentary on school lunches

When my kids don't want a sandwich, I'll send: cheese & crackers w/ some ham or salami; a tortilla wrap w/ meat & cheese inside or peanut butter & jelly; sushi rolls (which they love) - just get them at the store and keep them in a refrigerated lunch box; left over pizza or chicken legs; fresh fruit bowl and veggies w/ranch. There's lots you can do other than sandwiches. You're kids will let you know what they'll like. Have fun!

They can eat school lunch. They aren't always going to like what is served but they will live or they can take cold lunch on those days. Shool's have a nutrition based program that will help your kids meet dietary need. You are the boss and am willing to bet that you ate your school lunch. If they don't like it they don't eat. They will come around in a couple of days so you don't have to worry about them starving.

Meat roll ups with cheese, wraps, chicken or tuna salad with crackers, there are so many sandwich varieties though... alternate them and pack along fruit, veggies, cereal, or any other healthy side and a box of juicy juice. My mom would often write a sweet "Have a good day, I love you!" note on my napkin. I'm sure your kids would love that. It always made me smile. : )

Try something new. I use recipes from www.allrecipes.com , it's a good site with millions of recipes. You could ask them what's their favorite food for lunch and make them that. You could make your own homemade healthy pizza and see if they like that. Put in a meal and some snacks. You might be the one with the ideas, but ask if they like what they're eating now, if they like it, then don't change what you're giving them. If they don't like it, ask what they want and see if it's appropriate for lunch.

Do add in some fruit though.

buy those pillsbury crossaint.. and instead of just rolling the doug triangles, put ham, cheese, cream cheese, turkey, or whatever they like to make little rolls.. and bake as usual.

buy flour tortillas, put sheddered chicken and/ or mozzarela cheese, ply as a triangle and put in the grill like a little quesadilla

there are some doug pie circles in the frozen section at the market, like the ones for pies. .. use a roller to make them thinner,... stuff them with meat, ham, chesse, chicken, vegetables, etc make empanadas.. fried or baked.

anyway always is good to give them fruits ...but to be honest my kids dont like fruits in theirs lunch either..maybe you're more lucky

hope can help!
