What do kids want for christmas age 5-12 years

things that are colorful...make noise.....taste good...it doesn't have to be 1 toy that has all of these....shining lights......interactive toys.....not to mention popular expensive ones they see on tv....watch some commercials with them and see how they interact with some of the toys on tv....they might jam along with the music if they like the toy or might even say "i want it i want it i want it"
another good idea is when the kid sits on santa's lap and says what he wants for christmas....or writes the letter to santa...if you just read the letter or ask him what he wants santa to give him or listen for what he tells santa...it's in the bag.....
another idea is to bring him to the toy store when getting something for a friend of his....for say a b day party...and see what he nags you to get....when he whines and screams for something....he wants it.....and take note of what he's screaming for....
those are a few suggestions...for an 18 year old without kids...that's not too bad (i had a twin brother so i'm trying to think what my mom did to figure out what i wanted for christmas)

what do most kids want they want everything they see on tv! Hot wheels barbiedolls video games movies. when i was 6 i wanted a barbie doll house and the sports car. if these aren't good enough why don't you go to target or toys'r us and look at the shelves. there are alot of board games. depending if it is a boy or a girl buy Bratz (A Bratz doll is just like a barbie doll except more modified and detailed nicer clothes too!!!! Race cars for boys buy them some clothes!!!!

im a nanny and 2 of the boys i watch are in that age group...they want anything spongebob, Mario, or monster house. They also love KidKnex..make sure it is the kid ones. They spend hours putting these things together. They love board games, especially the traditional..Sorry,Trouble, Uno

girls age 10/11/12 would probably like gift certificates to the mall. younger-ish kids like beanie babies stuffed animals puzzles games and the like. (i think) the mall im pretty sure about.

Toys, toys, toys! Boys- trucks, cars, tools, action figures, comics, waterguns, etc. Girls- dolls, Barbies, My Little Pony's, Polly Pockets, stuffies, etc.

if they are kind of older than 8 than a psp or game boy advance , or game cube , maybe puppy something cool or cute
