This is a serious question and I'm honestly not trying to stir up trouble. My son will be 7 in a few days and at this point he doesn't ask much about his birth family. He knows he was adopted and we talk openly about his birth mother and former foster parents whenever the topic arises, but he rarely mentions any of them. I know from research and foster care preparation that birthdays can be traumatic for the adopted child as well as for the birth mother.

Can you tell me how you feel on your birthday? I know some of you have had good adoption experiences and others have not. I'm interested in finding out how you celebrate your birthday, whether it's with family or not, and whatever else you might want to share. I think it would help me to be more understanding if my son has similar feelings on his birthdays.

Many mahalos! :)

My mom says it's not a good idea, but as long as I have an uncomplicated vaginal birth I don't see the problem. I don't remember any excessive fatigue from my first two, and I really want to spend my summer at home with family, not at school during break. Isn't the baby's first checkup at 6 weeks anyway?

Would there be any challenges driving with a baby so young? Of course I'll speak to my doctor first.

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I am happily married and really want a baby. However, lately I've been feeling really scared about having her. I know it's such a huge responsibility and now I'm scared. Is this normal?

My 16 year old daughter is pregnant. She's decided to keep it, too. I believe she's really thrown her life away. She told her boyfriend first and her mother second. Her mother beat her and almost caused a miscarriage (don't worry, she's with me now). She has frontal lobe dysfunction, meaning when she does something wrong, she doesn't know it's wrong until after she's corrected or something of that nature. So she probably walked into the house going, "Hey mom, guess what? I'm pregnant.", not knowing that being pregnant was wrong until after she was beaten. I'd feel terrible if I yelled at her after what happened, but how do I show her I'm disappointed without hurting her too badly?

How do you cope or come to terms with things if you know your partner is bad with chldren? I mean if the partner neglects and shouts at your child, and doesnt teach the child any of things the child needs to learn to grow up
The problem is as parents you have to leave the child alone witht he other half sometimes to go to work or to go shopping for example, but it makes me so sad that the child is not getting the care the child needs all the time
I love my partner so splitting is not an option, my partner does love our child but is just failing in their job as a parent
It keeps me awake at night Im so sad for the child and just racking my brain trying to think of how to cope

... I am *not* as I came across when I first started posting but just had a *particular* problem with my DIL (over teflon) and now that is resolved - but we will always have other differences and I will welcome genuine advice in the New Year when the boys go back to school.
I'll leave it to New Year's Eve to decide.
I don't mean trolls and clones - I mean those well-meaning people who genuinely misunderstood what I was saying and my character too.

Would you still let you toddler watch Diego if you heard them say freeze Bobo out loud while the two of you where out in the store?

I guess it's just that I don't want her to think it's ok to either call people bobo or tell them to freeze bobo. Because some people might take it a little personal than those who have kids her age.

I can afford to raise a baby, even on my own. I told him I was pregnant 2 days ago and he has made it clear he doesn't want it. This is a scary situation being pregnant, but I really do wanna keep it. I just feel torn between what he says and how I feel. I do understand his point, but I told him repeatedly he won't be tied down for it, and I won't hold him responsible as a parent.

For my friend's daughter? I recommended the name, now she's IN LOVE with it.

Carrianne and Kerrianne is what it's come down to for spelling it. We already agreed we don't want the name to be two parts, such as Kerri Anne or Carrie Anne.

If there's another way you're up for, like, Karianne, we're up for that too =]

My name is Dani, and my husband Chris and I have been married for 10 years and have 8 beautiful children and I am expecting one more. We are trying to think of names for our soon to be daughter. All of our childrens names are irish. We have Conor who is 10, Sean and Aaron who are 8, Courtney who is 7, Maeve and Kayleigh who are 5, Bradin who is 3, and Chloe who is 13 months. Some names we have been thinking of are Shannon and the middle name Claire, Clodagh an dthe middle name Lee, and Eva with the middle name Noel. What do you think of those names for our almost newborn baby. She is due anytimes now, doctors think that I am going to have in a day or 2.

I am 27 years old, married to the best man, but I've had 2 miscarriages, 1st was 4 years ago, 2nd was last April,
The doctors called it a fluke, and say there is no reason that I cannot have a perfectly healthy child, and this kinda thing happens and is common. They have really took a toll on me emotionally, I am so afraid of pregnancy, yet I want a child so badly, My husband is 37 and I want to have a child pretty soon, I guess what I'm looking for is inspiration from all of you...I need prayers, and I need friends to give me some advice or maybe just some reassuring words that I can do this and that everything will turn out wonderfully!
I cannot wait to hear from you.....
Thank you for your time........from a woman to another woman!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
God Bless!

I've never been to this gyno before, so it's why I question his comment...

My husband insist on putting the baby to sleep in her crib, but I rather have her by my side, so I could check up on her easier, and quicker, but then, one time, my husband almost rolled on top of her, is it a bad idea?
