My sister is pregnant, and wants to name her daughter Lily, but it's tradition to give the children in our family, family names somewhere in the name

She want Lily Elizabeth, but I think that they are too close, and if she wanted to, she could name her Elizabeth, and call her Lily. What do you think?

contractions started around 8 or 9 pm, went to the hospital about 6 am the next morming.
dialated to 3 cm before the Dr. broke my water . four hours later I reached 5 cm (3pm)
by 6 I was told that my baby's head was too big
at 8 I was told that her head was tilted
9 was told that the hospital I was at wasn't allowed to let me labor for more then 24 hours. I had an epudral, internal monitors and and been druged so I could sleep long before all this next one happened
by 9:30 she had gone into fetal distress, and I was put on oxegon.
she was delivered at 11:57 pm
(don't know where the doctor waited so long to take her)
Later I was told that my pelvic bone was too small for her to pass through.
family history: mother gave birth naturally to four children, c-section to one, due to a tybe of birthdfect, sister gave birth to two children naturally, grandmothers... three children each, natural
one, all singals, the other one single and then twins... all natural.
great grandmothers... the same... my aunt on my fathers side has never had children.
I don't know if this would make a difference or not, but during the pregnancy I had a pinched nerve which mad it painful to walk, so I did very little.

based on this info, did I need to have a c-section? and will I have to have another one when I get pregnant again? (I want to opt. for a VBAC)
Thank you!

Serious answers only please...My 15 year old son leaves wrappers everywhere...under couch, behind things....he can't seem to find the garbage can. I have tried taking away T.V. (he mostly trashes the play room where his tv is)...taken away that room from him, made him clean the entire playroom up (all siblings things), it seems like all the obvious things I have done ( I did begin by nicely asking, explaining why we need to throw things away....this has been going on for 4 years).

Anything would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Everyone - I've been traveling for x-mas and my ankles are starting to swell. I haven't had swelling before, nor am I haven't swelling any other places (no face swelling or hands or leg swelling). For those of you who have had swelling while pregnant (I'm 25 weeks), what have you done? I'm keeping hydrated and keeping my feet up while resting. I'm also icing them just in case I sprang my ankles (which given how clustzy I've been, could've happened!). I'm trying to relieve some of the swelling before I get on a plane on Thursday. I also think traveling may the the culprit anyway - y'all know how bad planes can be on circulation. Anything you'd tried and had work?

To make a long story short; psycho girlfriend makes herself pregnant by grabbing my guys out of a used condom in the trash.

She's saying she's pregnant now and will file for child support as soon as the baby is born.

Options? Advice? -- or is it an open and shut case?

How far apart did you space your children? What was your favorite? 1 year apart? 2 years apart? Pros and cons of it? .... I've had kids 12 months apart and 2 months apart. But never more than that. I would love to hear from you. :o)

Note: Please no family haters here or pessimists. Only talking to moms and dads here. Thank you. :P

My husband and I don't know the sex of our baby yet, but if it's a boy, we're leaning toward naming him Blaise (pronounced "Blaze"); our last name is McWilliams. The problem is: We're having trouble coming up with a middle name (preferably something that's three or four syllables long, except for "Alexander"...We already have a son named Nathan Alexander). ...Does anyone have any suggestions?

And I realize that many of you may have a problem with the name Blaise, but we like it because it's a Catholic Saint's name that isn't your run-of-the-mill Saint's name (like John or Thomas). So if you'd be so kind as to not (negatively) comment on the name Blaise, but to stick to the question and give some middle name suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I am 23 wks with my 2nd baby. My 1st was born head down, no problem. I recall he was always in that position, he would roll around but after about week 20 I could pretty much always feel him head down, feet kicking me in the ribs.

Now I have been having dreams of a breech baby, with visions as well. Since feeling the baby move & searching out the positions, I have been a little suprised & lost for words, since I am only feeling a head up / feets down position at this time.

How many of you could feel your baby's position, at this point (23 weeks or so), and did (s)he turn over for the Big Day? I know they are "able" to do so, but I am wondering if Yours Did or Not.

If you Did deliver breech, how was it?

Did you have dreams or visions of it? did they help you?

thanks so much for any answers.

My husband's family has been mean eversince I got pregnant. My mother-in-law gets mad at me for everything. They pick on me cause I have 3 boys. My husband doens't do anything about the stress that they are putting my under, they didn't do this with my other pregnancies. My mother-in-law even asked me if I had had any alcohol, so that I could drive. Everyone is acting like they don't care what happens to this baby. They weren't even happy when they found out. It seems like I am the only one who cares if I miscarry or not. Maybe the only reason I have boys is cause they are the only ones that can handle the stress I am put under. This is turning out to be a horrible holiday season.

I'm pregnant. I'm married, and happily so, except for the morning sickness and whatnot. My husband and I did not want a child... and we were using contraceptives, but we got pregnant anyway. I am not happy about being pregnant, and I don't see it as a blessing. I feel that I'm getting more and more depressed. Is there anything, anything at all, that would help me feel better about having this child? Is there anyone else out there who HATED everything about being pregnant, especially the fact that she was pregnant, or am I just one of those heartless people out there who would have gladly terminated this pregnancy if she hadn't heard the heartbeat first?

... I used to sing a version of Brahm's lullaby (his tune - my own words!),"Rock-a bye baby" and "Hush Little Baby" (my words too!) and other songs that I found calmed them (and me!).
They all love music today so I think that singing them to sleep helped develop that in them.
Do you sing lullabies to your babies/toddlers?
