David Joseph Hickens or Joseph David Hickens sound very distinguished, and D. J. and J. D. make for great nicknames. Drake and Justin come off as too trendy.

Hickens needs a name that doesn't have a 'k' sound in it...

Gary Hickens, Justin Hickens, David Hickens, Joe Hickens are all fine. I think Drake and Ike Hickens are a mouthful, Mike Hickens sounds like McHickens, which now makes me realise, don't have a name starting with C... or else you'll have C.Hickens (chickens)...

Hope this helps and congrats on your baby boy!

I absolutely agree with Buffy. All the K names are a little difficult to get your mouth around. I like Justin and David best.
Good luck!
