your husband should talk about his intentions before making a major decission like that. did you say it was ok to give your car but didnt decide on a specific time? either way he should have talked to you before deciding on that! if that was me in your shoes i would be pissed off!! you have every right to call your mother in law back and tell her that she will have to wait!! im sorry if i came of as rude but im only speaking my mind

Is your name on the title?
If so, is it written: John and Mary Doe?
"And", give you 50% ownership of the car and he will need your signature to transfer the title into his moms name.
Or is it : John or Mary Doe?
This allows him to do anything he likes with the car without your consent.
I made that mistake in the 1st marriage.
But not in the 2nd marriage.
Everything we buy, that requires a title, deed or proof of ownership, is listed with that very important "and"!!!
Keep that in mind, when you get the van!

Just Abbadon to get you a new car. Abby would give you a car. Give the "thing" you got now to your mother-in-law and let Abby get you a car. Love you. I'm in Germany visiting my mama. Still Love you. Mwhahaha! ~hugs like crazy person~

Well, I would explain to your husband about that. After you talked with him and explained to him what you feel I would have him call his mother and tell her that no she can not come to pick up the car tommorrow. He should have dicussed it with you before making any arangements. Then you can have the car and keep it for a while if you chose to do so.

First you give your husband hell about this behind your back, that is, unless he is getting you a van right now. You tell him exactly what you just wrote here....how you need transportation to get to your doctor appointments. You tell him to tell his mother he realizes he should not have offered her your car without discussing it with you. Does he do things like this often?

I TOTALLY know how you feel. You do have a right to be upset and you need to have dh call and tell MIL that she isn't getting the car yet because till you have another vehicle to drive you need that car.

Simple solution to reset priorities. Tell your hubby that each day he takes away your ride, you take a month away from his "ride."
