Abortion is not considered murder because it is legally performed only on embryos and fetuses that are not viable outside of the womb (except in very rare/extreme cases where mother's life is threatened). Once viable outside of the womb, it becomes a "life", but not before that. This is how the law defines it.

yes you are alive before you are born. 3 weeks after conception is when your heart starts beating. that is also when the head, eyes, intestines and liver develop. you are alive as soon as you are conceived.
abortion IS murder. brenda shafer's story:
" I stood at the doctor’s side and watched him perform a partial-birth abortion on a woman who was six months pregnant. The baby’s heartbeat was clearly visible on the ultrasound screen. The doctor delivered the baby’s body and arms, everything but his little head. The baby’s body was moving. His little fingers were clasping together. He was kicking his feet. The doctor took a pair of scissors and inserted them into the back of the baby’s head, and the baby’s arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does when he thinks that he might fall. Then the doctor opened the scissors up. Then he stuck the high-powered suction tube into the hole and sucked the baby’s brains out. Now the baby was completely limp. I never went back to the clinic. But I am still haunted by the face of that little boy. It was the most perfect, angelic face I have ever seen."
doesnt that make you sick?? if it doesnt, you are a sick person.

Yes you are are alive for 9 months before you are born. So abortion is murder. Your heart began to beat only 3 weeks after conception- the only difference between unborn and born, is the fact that you do not hear the cries of the unborn- but they are there.

Yes, you're alive before you're born. You're kicking around in there and you're even sucking your thumb and getting the hiccups and you're thinking. When I was 7 months pregnant with my daughter she would rock back and forth in there whenever I played the piano - she liked Mozart best. It was very noticeable to anyone in the room. Once she was born it was no surprise to anyone that she loved music.
I feel that abortion is murder and should be rarely used and only in extreme circumstances.

Yes, actually you can be alive before you are technically born.
It seems like you think you have all the answers.
Well did you know that babies are breathing while they are in the mothers stomach. They breath like fish do, THEY BREATH WATER. I am pretty sure that fish are alive, so in which case... babies are too!
Abortion is murder because you are killing someone.
You are just trying to create unneeded drama, on Y!A for pregnancy. I think someone likes attention/has no life.
Grow up.

Yes. Living organisms have these properties
1. growth through metabolism
2. potential for reproduction at some stage of existence
3. power to adapt to the environment through changes originating internally.
Unborn babies have all these properties. They have their own blood supply. The placenta serves as a transfer point between the mother's and baby's blood for oxygen and carbon dioxide, nutrients and wastes. The baby's blood type is often different from the mother's. In some cases, if some of her blood gets into the baby's blood stream, it can kill the baby.
The baby lives and grows in the womb. It is not part of the mothers body, since it has its own DNA. That is one of the reasons the amniotic fluid can be drawn from the uterus and analyzed for possible birth defects. A baby getting nutrition in the womb is no more a part of the woman's body than one sucking at her breast.

You are a living organism but you are not equal to being a full human. Thats why you are called a fetus.
Anyways, my question to all this, is how do they know, with all certainty that all developing embryos and fetuses form human mammals anyways. They dont. It is scientifically IMPOSSIBLE to state with 100% certainty. you can only state based on past facts, not on future ones. Who the hell knows what kind of genetic mutations can occur. And by the way, having extra chromosones, and a different genetic code and chromosonal abnormalaties doesnt exactly make you genetically equal to all other humans.

I think so, baby's move and kick and suck their thumbs. those of actions of live not death.
Abortion is not murder it is a choice the Mother makes to end her right to give life.
The part that gets me is, when did it become her right to end life? I thought that would have been at the point of sexual intercourse if not rape or force.
I'm only a man and I will never understand this, so I will always leave it for the women to vote on and debt, but you ask so I answered it. sorry if I hurt anyone fellings.

This is the tricky question that puts legislators into a bind when asked about abortion. Some people say that life starts at conception, others have an argument that say life starts at different stages in utero, and others say that once you do not rely on your mother for hydration and food by stomach, life starts. I say that becuase life is over when brain function ends, life starts when brain function does.
