It's about the AT&T wireless GoPhone. The phones start at $10. Once the kids use up their prepaid minutes, they will have to use their allowance or whatever other money they have to buy more talk time. That makes it easy on your wallet and gives them a sense of responsibility.

tell them they have to wait. Im a twin and me and my sister got phone when we were 13. But only because we were about to take a train alone to ralyie nc. But im 15 now. and me and my sister have cheap phones and we share a plan. she uses her phone all the time but i never use mine. i mean when i first got it i used it but now its just a way of communication which is nothing like talking in person. I would say they could possible share a phone and a plan. BUt if you do decide to get them phones make sure thay dont have alot of minutes. teach them not to run up the phone bill.
but i still think kids are getting phone way to young and maybe you should wait untill that are 14

email me if you have any more questions!!

If you can't afford them don't buy them...
I didn't have a cell phone or a computer at 13....We actually had to call our friends from a regular phone or write notes to them instead of texting....

They won't die without cell phones.

I wouldn't get them a phone. I am 13 too and my mom won't get me a cell phone until I am sixteen and can drive because otherwise there really isn't a reason to buy me one and i agree with her. If they need to use a phone..They can get ahold of a public phone or one of there friends cell phones..that is what my mom tells me. I would deffinetly take my advise because my cousin has one and she is fourteen and we go over to her house to eat a lot and she is always texting and talking to her friends it is just soo annoying! Please take my advise>It would be the smart thing to do.

We live in WV and they have the tracfone's which I don't use but they have them, they are pre-paid and than Altell has a pre-paid one as well. You can buy them at walmart and actually if you go to a dealer you can get them a little cheaper some of the other models. There is a few ways to pay for the minutes, they have plans, or they have a plan where it is 15 cents a min anytime all the time. Which is the one I use. Have them work to earn their minutes they are old enough. Like doing yard work, or shoveling driveways

I heard about these phones called Firefly. The only numbers that can be called are the numbers you program into them. It's something like 2 or 3 numbers. You do the programming. They can call the house, yours, or hubby's cell phones, if you have them. That's all teens need cell phones for.

you can get them one cell phone to share and they can work out a plan.

since they are mostly together like school and whatnot, one of your twins can have it for one day and the other for another day. they will switch every other day.

it will be good because you will be able to keep in touch with them to know if they are staying after school or something.

Tell them if they want it they will have to pay for it themselves. Good way to be a little more responsible. I had to pay for mine. I don't even hardly use it. The only phone I was able to get was pre-paid. So have them buy it and be responsible for it.

There are some cell phones that are pay as you go. At&t has phones for $9.99 and then you pay for the minutes that you use. This would be a great way to teach them responsibility and have them earn the money to put on their phones each month.
