I like it for my future daughter, but someone I know said it was a stripper name. I would have never thought that, so I thought I would conduct a little survey....

My husband and I are staying with his parents while we're home for the holidays. His brother's wife is currrently living with them, along with her two sons. Her youngest is 8 months, and he's the one I'm really concerned about. I woke up sometime early this morning to the sound of choking. Naturally, I checked my son, but he was happily snuggled up to his daddy. I went in the living room and saw the 8 month old in his swing, with a bottle propped, and his mommy nowhere in sight. I took the bottle and picked him up, and he spit up the formula that was choking him. His mom was in her room, in bed, but obviously she was the one who did it, since he went to bed with her a few hours before. He fell asleep in my arms on the couch, but I had trouble sleeping because I couldn't stop thinking of what could have happened to him.

I know I did the right thing, but I'm worried about what will happen when she moves out and her husband gets deployed. (CONTINUED)

I am trying to teach my 6 y.o. that you need to write thank you's to show appreacation after recievng a gift. Is ok for me to write a simple thank you note, make copies then have him fill in the names ( ie, nana, auntie, etc) then sign his name at the bottom, so he doesn't get overwhelmed?

So, Merry Christmas!!

Also, I just got my Top contributers badge for the Adolescent section! What a great Christmas Present. Can I have a star?

Again, Merry Christmas!! =)

Have a safe holiday!

My daughter is on Nutramigen...have you ever read the ingredients in that stuff?? It's main ingredients are coconut oil, soybean and vegetable oil and all this crazy stuff. Obviously she is on it because she needs to be...we tried switching to 1/2 breast milk 1/2 nutramigen and her symptoms came back (blood in stools, gas, screaming) so we are strictly on nutramigen again w/ 1 TBS cereal mixed in a bowl a day. Did your child meet all the developmental milestones on this stuff? I mean, I really should NOT have read the ingredients but I hate what I am feeding her. I am scared because of this stuff she will not be healthy and make progress as she gets older. Please can someone tell me if everything seems ok w/ your little one on nutramigen? Her Dr. says it will be her "staple food" till one year.

My 11 month old is teething and has four sharp teeth, two each on the lower and upper jaw.During breast-feeding,she keeps biting me,as a resullt of which,I hav got a small cut on my left nipple. It pains a lot, whenever she feeds from tht breast.I feed her from the right breast, but she prefers the left one more(especially when she's sleepy).
I am in extreme pain whenever, she feeds from the left nipple.
What shall I do? Can any one with experience, help me out and suggest an easy, harmless and effective home remedy for healing this bruise? I don't feel like consulting the doctor for this matter. Pls help me.Thnx....

my step-son (he's 5) lives with his mother full-time and me and his father get him every other weekend (generally)...It's been about a month or so since we've last seen him andhis attitude has changed quite a bit since then....First he's more aggressive with his brother who is 22 months, and last night (Sunday) my husband's sister came over to open x-mas presents and while sitting on the couch he sat on her lap...within a few minutes he started rocking back and forth and said "Anna, look were having sex" (names have been changed) we were all APPAULED! and when asked where he heard it he said from his mom..apparently they share a bedroom???
so, the question now is what do I do? technically we have no rights (they were never married) and we see him on her terms....he comes to our house after a month with hair to his chin, smells like pee, and now this...anybody with a similar experience? or that can offer ACTUAL advice????
thanks and Merry Christmas to all! :)

We live in a regular housing area nothing fancy or run down. I have seen a huge rise in people begging for presents for their children around my area. They want things like an XBOX (for free) Video games, cameras....etc nothing that is a necessity. I believe it is rude to actually go up to people and ask them to provide for your children with toys...how about food or similar? Some actually do this through the computer asking for "donations". I was literally in Toys R us when a man and woman approached me asking me to buy their "sick" child a $26 DVD. Im not rich nor do I dress like I am rich. How would you react if someone came up to you or even in your neighborhood handing out fliers for free gifts?

I mean I do, donate so many toys for legit donation centers and actually I adopted 2 childrens names off of the Christmas tree to donate gifts for but this is ridiculous.

the government reccomends something so everyone belives that it is "the thing to do." i have a 7 and a half month old daughter and i raised her and took care of her the way "I" felt was good. i tried my *ss off to breast feed until i completely dried up, i gave her the formula that i thought was best, i put cereal in her bottle at 2 months to help her sleep at night (trust me it works) i gave her a little taste of baby food at 3 almost 4 months and started actually giving her babyfood by 5 months. she now has 3 solid meals a day with maybe 10 ounces of formula a day. why does everyone listen to what the government reccomends? the government didnt reccomend nothin 50-60 years ago and people raised healthy babies back then. so what changed now? how the hell does the government know exactly what is best? are they inside of a babies body seeing exactly what does what at what age? no, they dont even give a damn... they just get payed to pretend to know everything.

... they are not going to Church or visiting or should they be allowed to slum around in pyjamas half of the morning and then throw on any old thing.
I always dressed my boys up smartly for Church and then they could change into something more casual but still smart (often a new item) for visiting my parents and so on.
I think that it shows respect to visitors if the children are dressed nicely for Christmas - and it gives them a sense of occaision too - after all it is a birthday.
I may not bother going visiting this year as I don't like to see Christmas downgraded by it being all about food and presents without respect for *guests*.

banned? I think the thumbs-down should be banned because people (who gives thumbs-down) disagrees with other people's answers. I think thumbs-down feature is completely ridiculous. I mean people gives thumbs-down for fun and they thinks it's fun to give them a thumbs-up. Lots of people said "I am SO SICK of thumbs-down," and I think it should be banned. What do you think?
