well advice differs, but generally its thought 1-2 units once or twice a week wont hurt. tell her though that drinking early in pregnancy is most dangerous as this is the time when the baby is doing most of its growing and developing which the alcohol will effect. but i really dont think 1 beer will hurt, i didnt find out i was preg til 10 weeks and was partying hard up until then!

most beers have about 5% alcohol.
Most wines, which are allowed at roughly 1/2 a glass 1-2 times a week are around 12-18% alcohol.
Its a personal choice as to weather to have the beer or not.
I hope the anti alcohol brigade knows that buttermilk has about 1% of alcohol in it.
My opinion is that it will not hurt the child but its not risk free this early on.
I do drink in my pregnancy, but i mainly drink wine- and i have had roughly 2-3 glasses so far on like 6 + seperate occasions.
By the way when you are 2 weeks pregnant, most women dont even know they are pregnant and get wasted, and then stop drinking once they find out. Those women do not give birht to kids with FSA. The majority of FSA born children are born to alcaholics.

No, is not advisable. Any amount of alcohol, once preganant, is not good. This is because alcohol may lead to pre-term delivery or a deformed child, and scientific studies search will tell you that it has not been determined how much alcohol is considered bad. There are people who do take chances, and do drink from time to time in their first trimester. But in my opinion, its better to be safe than sorry. The risk is JUST NOT worth it.

No! One beer is not going to affect the baby, but I would suggest that she drink red wine instead, because that is better for her body and is great for pregnant women occasionally.

I truthfully have heard of a few scientific professionals telling women that it is okay to have a tumbler of wine. often they are going to rigidity moderation in the event that they do (you are able to basically learn this, and locate the two factors of view on the challenge). There are issues that docs say which you would be able to and could no longer do - it rather is as much as the affected person to infuse slightly of common experience into regardless of counsel they get carry of. i does no longer take a drink, in my view - I basically sense why take the prospect. i do no longer comprehend why you would be "pissed" at somebody b/c of what their well being care expert instructed them.

My doctor told me that 1 glass every now and then is okay but not in the first trimester. Since she's in the first I would say hold off a little while.

Until she knows for sure, she should avoid alcohol. Alcohol can impair the baby's development, so it is best to err on the side of caution when it comes to the baby's health.

Probably, but why risk it??
If she's already willing to risk her babie's health over something as petty as a stupid can of beer, that doesn't bode well for her future parental skills :(

Yes it could hurt the baby. If she only thinks she's pregnant, why not get a test. However, don't drink at until she knows for sure.
