Pregnancy & Parenting - 2 December 2007

I am wondering if the names Melody and Harmony for twin girls would be pretty or cheesy. Husband is a big music fan, even does his own, so the names do have meaning for us. I just want to make sure they will always have their own identity. I don't want the names to sound too much alike.

so i am 3 months along..and finally told my BF. because he's in the military and is hardly ever home...he feels that he won't get to spend much time with the kid if we decide to keep it...and now wants to abort it. he says he rather have me get an abortion than to have a kid that he will hardly ever see...let alone, be financially ready for.

i on the other hand don't believe in abortion..i am against that because i feel that it is taking a life away and that i could be scarred and regretful for life. and i also feel that anything is possible if u put ur heart into it..even raising a child.

he didn't seem too happy with my decision. telling me the child isn't a life yet--that it is still a "parasite" that is living off of me. and keeps begging me to get this abortion..and that IF i do..he will marry me next year--and possibly think about having another child by next year.

i kind of feel that he is only saying that to make me get the operation..what do u think?

I am trying to find a bassinet for our baby due in eight weeks. We have a very limited budget. So I am trying to keep it under about $60 or really even less because we really don't have that much!

We only have a two bedroom apartment and I don't want to put a newborn in our two year old's (Ally) bedroom. Not only do I not know HOW she will act around a baby but I don't think it would be fair to her when the baby doesn't sleep through the night. So the baby will be in our room for a little while and we don't have much room in there either for even a full size crib. We are keeping our daughter's crib in storage but we just can't use it right now.

Anything you can recommend online (for me to see) will be helpful. I honestly have no idea what I am looking for. We didn't use a bassinet with Ally. Well, we had a little travel one that someone gave us, but we gave it away when she grew out of it.

I'm 4 months pregnant with twins, I have a super supportive husband and I've been staying home all the time, being on Yahoo! answers, reading, watching TV and doing nothing in particular.

I sometimes go to my husband's office because I like to dress up every once in a while, we sometimes go shopping and we go out for a walk at night (if there's no storm).

I was wondering if Im being too lazy and I should do something? or is it okay for me to relax and stay home and do nothing since I feel really heavy and uncomfortable?

Tonight he coughed so hard that he threw up...is there anything i can do for his cough and his stuffy nose...he so miserable ..hes 16 months! i just want him to get better (he has no fever), and it just gets bad at night..but during the day he has small cough and runny nose.

ok so im 18 and my gf is 17. neither of us have our driving license much less our permit. and my friends dont either. if anyone i knew did, i would just run to a walmart in another city close by. but i dont so that makes it kinda hard. how can i get a condom(s) without my parents knowing? and i want a half decent brand. i dont want them to bust like the gas station crap. and i would like just knock them into the cart at walmart but my mom would freak. so yea no. and also is there an age restriction on buying them? i live in tennessee so if there is i dont want to embarse myself. thanks

I have month-old twin boys and have had some difficulty getting them latched on properly. This evening, I had stinging pain when one of the babies latched on and saw afterwards that my nipple is bleeding in a couple of spots.

I think I know how to correct the latch problem. My question is, should I keep trying to breast feed in spite of the pain from the hurt nipple, or should I try to take some time off (a day or so) and give bottles? Is there anything I can do to reduce the pain while nursing? Will nursing make healing take longer, or will it make a difference?


Any advice is appreciated!

My little boy has had a bad cold for close to a week. I took him to the Dr. Friday and they said it was a just a bug. They don't generally rule it a sinus infection unless the cold sticks around for 2 or more weeks. I think it may be heading that direction, but not quite sure yet. Does anyone know what I can do to help my little guy? Already doing Tylenol. I feel so bad for him, he's so congested.

ok , i have a 3 months baby and i have been having intercourse without protection or pills, my question is , if my husband does not ejaculate in me does that mean i wont get pregnant, or just simple intercourse even without ejaculation within might cause pregnancy due to the colourless fluids secreted by the male in the beggining ... thank u soooo much

I'm looking for a toy that will help my nephew expand his vocabulary. He's four and we don't think there's anything wrong with him except that his speech is rather underdeveloped. He doesn't speak in many full sentences. He was hardly ever sick as a baby and the doctors have never said anything about it. My sister hasn't had him tested or anything but he seems fine. He responds well when I encourage him to speak more and understands what we say to him. My dad is the one who watches him most of the time but he does little to stimulate him. He sits him in front of the TV most of the time. Our family is bilingual so all the kids have had problems being late with speech but my nephew seems to be having the most trouble. I think its mostly because he got a little sister right around the time that most kids get talkative and he figured he'd get by better by acting like his baby sister speech-wise. Since Christmas is coming up I'd like to try get him a toy that will get him talking more.

Many people I know do not get along with their in-laws. I don't like mine because they told me I was fat constantly when I was pregnant and now they always put me down on how I raise my child. It is my husband's brothers and their wives that do this. It has gotten so far that I do not see them and have not for a whole year. We live blocks away from them, so the kids and my husband see them often(like every other day), but I avoid them. Even at the grocery store. In my culture it is an insult to tell people they are fat and scold them on how to raise their kids. Since people have different ways of raising kids. What do you think?

So, here;s the thing..we live in a ONE bedroom apt.. we have a king size bed and then we made our son's crib into a toddler bed, hoping he would want to sleep there. NOPE, he wants the big bed. not only is he sleeping with us, the time he goes to sleep is later and later and there is a battle every night. Taking naps during the day is fine, however, he sleeps in our bed again. trying to get him in HIS bed, well, he screams and carries on and then pukes. i know we have to move asap. we are loooking. i am sure when we do move and he does get his own room, there will be adjustments. but for now, we all need sleep..HELP! please!!

On Nov. 8th is when I last had my period. On Nov. 11th I stopped taking Yaz birth control. Me and my fiancee have been having unprotected sex every sence, we are trying to conciev. All most every day I have been kinda sick to my stomach around noon, I have been urinating more then normal, I have had gas, I've been more tired then I use to be, and on Nov. 30th after urinating, when I wiped, the paper was pink. This only happened once. Does anyone think I may be pregnant? I took a test on Nov. 27th and 30th, but I think I done this to soon. When I was on Yaz my period was every 28 days. Thanks........also has anyone gotten pregnant after stopping Yaz......how long after?

hi..if theres any mom out there that can give me an opinion about how to teach my son not to want to be with me 24/7...im a single mom and dont have any family in canada..so the only person he sees is me...i talked to other moms and they tell me let him cry it out..if u have changedd him gave him his bottle and everyhting else and he still crys hes just spoiled...i dont know wat to do i tried livin him there to cry watchin carttooons..he got so red and cried up to the point that he was shoking and makinn him self puke...i dont know wat to do i feel like such a bad mom, for leting him cry,,but theres things i need to get done around my home and cant..it has got so bad that i now have tendonytis on my arm and it hurts when i pick up anything....does anyone have advise or if they went tru this..thanks

My 2 1/2 year old daughter will not behave no matter what I do. I've tried timeout, corner, talking,spanking, begging and nothing works. It has gotten so bad that now I just sit and cry. I don't know what to do. It is important to me to be a great mom. What am I doing wrong?
Right now it is 10:20pm where I live and she refuses to go to sleep. I laid her down two and a half hours ago and I have been fighting with her ever since to go to bed and no matter what I do she refuses to go to bed. I am losing my mind! Please Help!
