I am wondering if the names Melody and Harmony for twin girls would be pretty or cheesy. Husband is a big music fan, even does his own, so the names do have meaning for us. I just want to make sure they will always have their own identity. I don't want the names to sound too much alike.

Thanks for the comments!

Cheesy!

I like the idea of giving them different names so they have their own identities, but those two names together are just cheesy.

I think it's really sweet, and usually I hate the whole match-y twin thing lol. It's so much better than alliterating them or anything.

And I know Melody and Harmony go together, but I really just don't like the name Harmony lol. I don't really know why either. Would you guys consider switching to another music-related name? I really love Aria, Cadence, and Lyric as well lol. The other thing about Melody and Harmony is their similar-sounding endings lol, as well as the fact that they're a bit common I guess among musicians lol.

Melody, a beautiful name itself, would go very well with Cadence, Aria, or Lyric. None of those three sound too similar with Melody at all. Mel and Cady, Mel and Ari, Mel and Lyric, etc.

Good luck and Congrats!!

Thank goodness someone is thinking about the consequences of naming children. !!!!!!!

It all depends on what middle names & your last name is to see if the names flow. Also what "nic" names the girls can end up with.

I do like Aria & Melody together, the meanings are close but sound & spelling wise highlight thier difference.

Congrats on your twins it's an awesome journey!!!

Kind of cheesy, but both are pretty. I would use Harmony and Grace, which have to do with each other but aren't so cheesy. Or Melody and Grace. Good luck and congrats!

I like Melody and Harmony. I think they are both nice. If your husband does his own music and since they have meaning I think they would be nice.

Congrats your having twins!!!! Those are both really pretty names but they sort of sound silly together. Maybe keep the one you like best and try to find another that is musical but sounds good with the other name. Good luck!

I like both names, and think they would be fine as first names. If in doubt, give them seperate names and have Melody and Harmony as their second names.
