Do you have a pack-n-play. I have one that has a bassinet attachment. I plan on using that in my living room for nap time with my baby. I saved my bassinet from my first and will use that in my bedroom in the beginning. Check ebay, craigslist, pennysaver, newspaper, for a slightly used one. Go to consignment stores where you can find slightly used furniture too. Just clean it well, buy new sheets and you'll save a ton of money. Good luck!

I have a brand new Peter Rabbit one I bought when I was pregnant, but since I had a miscarriage I really don't need it, it's really a beautiful bassinet. If you want it, ya know... I could ship it to you. I have a bunch of baby clothes as well. It hurts to look at the stuff, it'd be a blessing to find someone who needed it. If you want it, email me. ya know... suff_love@yahoo.com

I do not know where you live but here we have stores that only sell gently used baby furniture. Try looking up Once Upon A Child or Once Upon a Mom. They should have something similar. These stores inspect items for cleanliness, recalls, ripping, proper working maintenance and etc. Good luck!!!

I'd sell it to ya, but I have a 3 week old!!!....im in the same situation with only a 2 bedroom home and very small rooms.. my daughters bedroom is 11ft by 9ft...i have 2 cribs in there but my 3 week old (whose name is Allie also!) wont be using it for awhile.

How about a sidecar type bed? It will last a bit longer than a bassinet, and not take up much room.
The Baby Bunk is one example I'm aware of. There are others, I'm sure, and you could probably find one used.

Here's some info. on co-sleeping, if you want to go that route:
