I've already called the doctors, there are no appts available, and they told me to take him to the ER if i think its that severe. We've tried everything at home, used the suction on his nose, humidifier, raised his mattress of the crib. He didn't sleep all night last night and hes cranky right now too. What can I do to make him better.

First time mom, and hes teething as well.

My baby has been sleeping with us since she was born. I had a c-section and nursing was made a lot easier this way. We also lived in a loft with a curious cat who was always jumping in the crib before baby arrived. We didn't want to chance the cat jumping in the crib once baby was sleeping in it.

Things have changed. The cat has a new home. We now have a 2 bedroom apartment. Baby is now an active 7 month old who will roll off the futon if left alone. I've been wanting more and more to let her at least take naps in her crib where it's safe. So far she's only done 45 minutes max then wakes up crying. I can't get her back in the crib after that. I will NOT let her cry it out. She sleeps like a dream in her car seat but I read that it may cause pressure on her spine in this position. I've noticed that the attachment parenting advocates say moms should be napping with baby but let's be real now. I haven't done this since she was 3 months old - unless I am exhausted. Any advice

I having been reading some questions on the teen page and there are several 14 years old who are pregnant. I am so angry i could actually cry, this could be because i am due my period so i am yet again not pregnant this month. Why can they get pregnant after one mistake of not using contraception and i have been trying 2 years and still haven't? Plus another thing is that most of these will get a house and have benefits and never work in their life but me and my partner who work full time struggle to get a house. So i am thinking maybe i should do the same, be like them?!!!
I am NOT saying all teenage mums are like this but you have to admit most of them are.

i had my 20 week scan the other day and they asked if i wanted to find out the sex of my baby, my partner didnt want to find out but i did. anyway he said he wanted it to be a surprise for both of us so i told the ultrasound guy that i didnt want to find out. So on our way home from the ultrasound my partner said we should have found out. I could have killed him. So i rang the ultrasound place and they said if i wanted to find out the sex i would have to pay for another ultrasound but i wouldnt be able to get in for another 4-6 weeks cause they are fully booked and with christmas closure and all. Just wondering and anyone can tell by these ultrasound pictures what sex my baby is?.

My 20 month old daughter is very smart. has been speaking full sentences, conversating back and forth for several months now. I love her very much & am proud of her and how advanced she is but its frusterating, because she has now gotten to the point where she will cuss. Yes its embarassing, that she has picked this up, but my question is how do we get it out of her memory all together. we have made a pact to never again cuss and try very hard not to raise our voices since she picks up everything. Its scary. She will have a temper tantrum and then right in the middle of screaming and crying she will stop all together and just scream the F word or "Shut up". She also will hit and try to bite anyone near her. I know the best thing to do is ignore this behavior but its so difficult and seems to only make her more upset. this happens several times throughout the day. She'll drop something by accident and say the S word or "D***it". She knows all the curse words, and the right context.

He is now 20 months.Anytime my son sees any part of my skin he gets so excited and hugs & kisses me and he even sucks my skin.Like when I bend over and my back shows a little he runs over with a big smile and will lift my shirt and will put his face there.I breastfed my other kids and they never did this.It seems as though he wasn't ready to give up breastfeeding but it's been a while and I have no more milk.I asked him if he wanted to be breastfed and he got really excited but did not know how to suck anymore. He has been drinking from a cup since 8 months old and never took a bottle.Have you had a similar experience?I just want to know if this is normal.

My friend is adopting a sibling group. They will live together in New Jersey. There are 2 boys and 2 girls. The girls are ages 4 and 6 and the boys are 5 and 8. I know this sounds like a lot of work but they are a commited couple. Besides the basics like a place to sleep, food, education...what do these children need? Also, another question I have is they will will be going to school in the middle of the year. What is the basic school supply list for a Preschool, kindergarten, 1st, and 3 rd grader? Thanks

My son just turned 2 and it was required that we wait 1 year after adopting. I think we have a lot to offer a foster child. We're not looking to adopt, but would be open if that's what the Lord leads us to.

Do you think that having foster children in the home with adoptive children makes the adoptive child feel insecure, like they might leave too?

My babes are 2 & 3 should I accept children their age or younger?

What kidna of issues are there when having foster and adoptive babes in the same home?

And for foster parents.... How hard is it to see the babes leave?

sorry!! last question. I know there is a per-deim for each child. If there is money left over from their care, is there a way to set up a college fund for the child that is out of the reach of the family (future foster or bio) until 18?

I need ideas on how to keep my kids puzzle pieces organized. They have about a dozen puzzles of various sizes and the pieces are EVERYWHERE. I try to get them to put the pieces back in the box when done but those boxes are coming apart at the seams so that doesn't help. Some of the puzzles don't even have boxes. I just got done throwing out 4 puzzles cuz they're missing so many parts, I'm about to just throw them all out. Any suggestions?

Over the past few weeks we've had problems with our dog chasing the school bus. It's taken care of now, but some things were done by the busdriver that I question. He should have talked to me or my husband, but he drug my son (9 yrs old) into it. He's told him that he's going to just run over him next time which killed my son. He yelled at my husband about keeping the "damn" dog out of the street (in front of all the kids). He got on the bus intercome and told everyone to stay in their seats (they were a few miles away from our house) because Aaron's dog might be in the street and we will get in a wreck and all die. All the kids started yelling at my son saying that they didn't want to die. He was very embarassed. He's said a few other remarks that were not "cool", but those are the big things.
My husband called the superintendent (?) and they spoke with the driver. He called my hubby and said he was sorry. I think he should have to apologize to my son as well. Aaron deserves

My fiance and I have just started talking about whether we want children. We are both unsure. I have always wanted children, but have many fears- finances mostly (we do both have college degrees and full-time jobs, but we've made a late start in that area). I am 29, he is 28. We'll be married when I'm 30 and him still 28. I have always wanted to be a young parent- and am afraid I won't be ready until I'm 35 or so. Emotionally, I am ready now but I want to be financially prepared. How will I know when I am financially prepared??? We also want to travel and enjoy the freedoms of no children, but the idea of no children ever is a little heartbreaking... ugh this is really hard!

i was approached by my sons montessori teacher today and she spoke o me calmly and told me she thinks my son should be assessed for a behavioural disorder. He is extremely intelligent for his age, she said he excels himself in everything but has reason to believe he has a disorder after observing his behaviour since the start of year. she said he lashes out and is aggressive, he does not make eye contace, finds it hard to do as he is told, he speaks like an adult and is very difficult to mind. he wriggles about under the table and causes disruption to anyone else. the other kids find him intimidating. he is loud and extremely stubborn and strongheaded, disciplining him, she said, is har. I agree with her in the fact that he is very difficult to mind, to discipline and to get him to do anything, he is genuinely not a bad boy, as he is relatively good with me, but cant handle when he is in a big crowd. He has had alot of changes in his life. what do u think? ne1 been tru this....

I have asked this question before. And I tried to use everyone's excuses. Nothing seems to work. He doesn't want to go potty at all. We are going to Florida in February a week before his 4th birthday. I keep trying to tell him he has to go potty before he gets on the plane - because he really wants to go on his 1st plane ride. But he still has no interest in doing it at all. I am trying really not to get frustrated. I am also a single mom, and I work 2 jobs, so it is very hard for me to be persistant with the training. Please advise me on what I should do.
