Get clear, plastic containers about the same size of the puzzle box. Cut the photo of the finished puzzle off the lid of the box and fit it into the lid of the clear container.
Store puzzles on a HIGH shelf. They have to ask to get one. Give them one, and when they are done, they have to put all the pieces back in the plastic container and give it to you before you get down another one.

On the back of the first assembled puzzle write the "A" on all the pieces and then put them in a Ziploc bag with just the front part of the box that has the picture of what the puzzle looks like. Throw the rest of the box away and breathe a sigh of relief. If it is a board puzzle, write the letter "A" on the back of the board and on the Ziploc bag containing the pieces so you know which pieces go with which board. Keep labeling pieces, boards, and bags with letters, (B, C, D, E,....), after you run out of letters, start with numbers, or double letters, or shapes. The Ziploc Bags take up less space than containers, but if the puzzles are too big you may have to use them for some of them to minimize the mess.

The trick I use, is only letting one puzzle at a time out of the closet. If they want another puzzle, make them put all the other puzzle pieces away first. If they refuse to do it, then refuse to let them have another puzzle.
Of course keeping them organized in Tupperware or baggies is a must, but getting your kids to put them back is the trick.

Ziplock bags are good. If you get the really big ones you can include the picture from the box. Cut the picture out of the lid.
Or those plastic containers meant for leftovers.

get some rectangular storage containers, they will stack nicely. cut out the picture, that way they can still look at it while hey are doing their puzzles. I would put them up in a closet or something so they have to ask to do them. you could also use food storage bags, They cost less than containers.
