Baby is well cushioned inside the amniotic fluid. As long as you're comfortable sleeping that way, you're just fine.
Eventually your belly will just get too big and you won't be able to anymore. Use many pillows to prop along your side and back to stay comfortable.

It won't hurt the baby. It will, however, become all but impossible very soon! There is no way you could balance once that belly gets big. You'll need to learn to sleep with lots of pillows in various locations to keep you comfortable. Also, try not to worry. If you go to sleep on your side and wake up on your stomach or back, nothing is going to happen to the baby. Your body knows when there is a problem, that will probably be when it wakes you up to move (or maybe just go to the bathroom!).

I am 37 weeks pregnant, and still find myself sleeping on my back or stomach sometimes. I have found the most helpful thing to do is to prop a body pillow along the front side of my body and pull my knee up over it. That keeps me elevated enough so that I am not laying directly on my stomach but still takes the pressure off my shoulders and all that.
It is not going to harm your baby - he or she is well protected in there. But, when you are uncomfortable, then it is time to consider a new position and/or more pillows! Good luck and congrats!

I'm 10 weeks and I go through the same thing so i sleep with my arms folded under the bottom of my belly, its kinda like holding the baby while I sleep that way it's not that much pressure on him or her, plus after a while it gets uncomfortable and I will wake up and roll over.

No, since you are early and are just getting pregnant your fine. But when it is like 6-9 months your belly will get big and you can lay on it. So your not going to crush the baby or nothing.

You should ask your Dr. but I had heard that it is fine to sleep on your stomach until you can't comfortably. I was told my Dr. at about 20 weeks I should try not to sleep on my back. My mother says she slept on her stomach all the way through with me and I'm fine. : ) I don't know how she did it though.
good luck!

I just had a baby. Personally, for me, I could not do it, it gave me gas so bad, I almost blew my husband out of the bed. The first answer was correct, your body is going to keep readjusting itself for comfort and circulation. Yet, at this stage in your pregnancy you would be just fine.

get a body pillow & prop yourself up.
it won't hurt the baby if you sleep on your stomach, but it will get uncomfy, so you may as well get used to sleeping another way asap. i still end up on my tummy occassionally (i'm 27 wks) and i wake up SO uncomfortable, with aching ribs & whatnot... but my baby is fine!

Its not going to harm your baby anyway you sleep. Your limbs will run out of oxygen and you'll roll over long before any effects reach the baby.
You're fine.

it won't hurt to lay on your belly this eartly but when you get further along you prob. won't even be able to bc your belly will be bigger and your baby will let you know by kicking you if it is uncomfortable
