I would try another doctor or suck it up and go to the ER, my son has been miserable for 3 weeks and the doctor finally gave us an inhaler with a face mask for my 3 month old, he is feeling much better.
It is really hard since they have taken most baby meds off the shelves, also for his nose, try Saline drops, they will really help

I know this suggestion might not be the favorite, but I am going to make it anyway. It has only been recently that the recommendation was to not give kids OTC medications for things like this. I know that they have been abused and kids have gotten very sick or died. But if used sparingly and very carefully followed instructions, in this situation I think it might be worth a try. Please do not yell at me, I am sure as moms all of you can at least relate to this situation and the feeling of desperation.
If he is totally miserable try some Benedryl. You must call and ask how much and will need to know his weight for them to tell you, and the can do this over the phone. I use it once and a while for mine at night and it does help, even if to get them some sleep for a few hours. I think the sleep then helps them to get better. He won't eat due to the congestion.
Is he old enough for table foods? Try Yobaby yogurt for now to see if that cold and slimy food tastes good so he can at least get something in and you do not end up with another issue. Also the yogurt has the probiotics which I am told are very helpful for colds and respiratory health.
Do not worry about the teeth right now. They are not going anywhere.
Just keep it up. You will succeed and he will get better. I know you are very tired and at your wits end now, but he will be ok.
Just keep an eye on him and if you feel like something is wrong go with your gut. You are the mom and you do know things! Take him to the ER if you are very concerned. (Be ready for a long wait and try to keep him away from others so he does not get something else.)

Definitely use saline nose drops.
Keep the humidifier on all the time for weeks, or all winter. Put a pinch of salt in the humidifier water.
Also, turn on the shower full HOT, and let it run with the door closed for about 10 minutes. Turn off the water, and take your son into the bathroom and sit on the toilet with him for about 10 minutes...in the warm, steamy room. Keep the door closed. Then dress him in new dry clothes...the vapor gets his clothes all wet.
Give him all the pedialyte he can drink. TONS of fluids. You might even try pedialyte POPS (the frozen popsicles)...it might feel good on his teeth.
Some babies have sinus problems when teething actually. The only teething remedy that worked for my daughter was to dip the corner of a clean washcloth in ice water, then let her gnaw on that. She loved it.

You poor thing!! This is what you need to do- you need to call around and find a doctor that can see him ASAP. Don't go to the emergency room- that was stupid of them to tell you that anyway. You will end up paying a crapload of money and waiting around forever. Anyway- find a doctor that can see him today or tomorrow so that they can get him on a breathing treatment (like an inhaler or a nebulizer) to quickly break up all that congestion going on. My best friend's 5 month old son has the same problem this week and thats what they did and he is doing soo much better.

awe you poor thing! keep the humidifyer going. give him some baby tylonal (not sure what dosage depends on age and weight call the doc for that) or give him some baby allergy medicine...he is prob congested bc of the teething! its just as bad for the parents as it is for the kid i swear....my daughter is getting her last 4 molars and it has been a challenge to say the least. when it gets to be too much for you, take a break, let him cry in his crib for a little bit to give yourself a much needed break and do not feel guilty!

This is going to sound gross but if you put your mouth over your babies mouth and blow gently you can get some of the mucus out. Keep the humidifier going and go to the ER asap. And if you baby won't at or drink continue to try to get fluids in by carefully rubbing ice over his lips. Good luck and best of health to you and your baby!

PLEASE take the baby through the emergency room at the hospital! Babies can dehydrate very fast, and what could only be a little thing right now, can turn into something worse later. Dot it for the baby's sake and your own peace of mind. Even if it's the teething, you'll know for sure once a doctor has examined him thoroughly.

Make sure that he gets enough fluids in him and let nature takes it course, it most likely is a virus infection. Most adults get cranky too if they have a cold. If you are worried go to the ER.

Try little noses saline spray before using the aspirator. Also plug on side of the nose while you use the aspirator. I also like to give my infant a bath in the grin n giggles (by gerber) vapor bath before bed and that seems to help. I have also had her sleep in her car seat while she is congested.

its so worrying, isn't it. If I was u I would go to ER, the poor little boy needs to be looked at. He may have an ear infection which can sometimes follow on from colds. Is he rubbing his ear? Get him checked out and you will all be happier. Good luck, I hope he is better soon x
