Tooth decay and extended breastfeeding?

Our baby was at the peds office today for a yeast infection. My husband mentioned that I am nursing her. She is not pro-breastfeeding at all. I'd love to switch- he likes her and wants to stay. Another post....

She mentioned to him that extended breastfeeding has been shown to cause cavities. Our baby is 14 months old and brushes her teeth twice a day- when I am getting ready for work and when she is getting dressed after bath. My husband was floored when he heard about this and came home upset.

Does anyone have links I could read on tooth decay and breastfeeding a baby older than 1? I looked and really didn't find much in support of or against this "factoid".

Lets not go here: weaning. I work in a poor school and bring home all sorts of things and she has not gotten sick at all except for pink eye last year. She is self weaning and I am happy with her progress thus far.

Is this true and something we need to be concerned about?

When did you stop breastfeeding? I want to go as long as possible!?

I'm concerned I may have to stop when his teeth start coming in. He's 4 months now. When is the soonest I can stop for him to get the full effect? And does your milk really just dry up at some point..even if you continue to pump??

Children and Pornagraphy?

Ok... First off I am 15. Everyone my age looks at porn, etc. And so do I.

Well to start of our 'story' my Dad was going through my computer to try and fix it, and he found all my porn sites. But he was totally cool with it! I asked him; "So...Am I in trouble for this?" he just said, "no... Why would you be..." He was cool about it and I respect that. But is that normal? I mean im 15...

Just wondering what you think of it. =)

What do you think of the names I've chosen?

I having my first biological baby in January and the gender is a surprise!
If the baby is a girl her name will be Gina Marianne or Ariana Marianne.
If the baby is a boy his name will be Micheal Joseph.

At what age did your baby outgrow their infant carseat?

My baby's carseat says up to 22 lbs. My baby is 4 mos and about 16 pounds. I am wondering if we will have to buy another carseat before we go on Christmas vacation.

Can you ovulate and not get a period w/out being preg?

I am currently on Clomid (3rd Cycle) which has worked in making me ovulate each time. I know for sure that I ovulated as I was closely monitored, but I am 8 days late w/ a neg. result. The doctor has done 2 blood tests (both neg.) but said my prog. level is still high enough to be preg. (8.7). I really want to be preg! HELP.

Should my 9 year old daughter get the expensive present she is demanding for Christmas?

My daughter who is very challenging only wants a computer or an Apple Ipod for Christmas and says she will not be happy with anything else. I told her to be prepared to not get either but whenever it comes up she gets a major attitide. I've told her she should be thankful for any gift she receives and that some kids aren't lucky enough to get anything for Christmas but it doesn't make a dent. I think we should not get either gift for her because she is being so bratty about it but is that going to teach her anything? If we do that than she needs to really understand why she is not getting either gift. What is the best way to do that? Any advice?

What happens to the Umbillical Cord after a C-Section?

After a baby is born by a vaginal birth and the umbilical cord is cut, about 20 minutes later the mother has slight contractions and the placenta comes out. So what happens after a C-Section? Do they put the umbilical cord back in her uterus, stitch her up,and then she has contractions like a vaginal birth and the placenta comes out?

Inappropriate language of a child- mother finds it funny?

An acquaintance of mine had her son here the other day- same age as my daughter (they're both 4). The boy asked my daughter what she was being for Halloween and she said a fairy. She asked him and he said "A pirate." She asked him if he was a pirate like on Spongebob Squarepants and he said "No, I'm the type of pirate that has a wh*re on every port waiting to swab me deck."

I couldn't believe he said that & his mother just laughed. She didn't even try to correct his language and then, she was on the phone with her husband and had her son REPEAT what he said to his dad and they laughed some more. After they left, I had to explain to my children that wh*re wasn't a nice word..

Am I just a prude or what?

Worry, My 9 year old daughter is nose bleeding a lot lately. Is this something to worry about?

She might be playing or reading doing whatever and she starts bleeding, I am going to take her to the Doctor tomorrow. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks a lot.

my baby boy is 6 months today....and still can't sit up!?

my first son was sitting up with NO help by 5 months! but this is my second baby and he just turned 6 months today! and he is not showing any signs of wanting or trying to sit up on his own! even when we prop up against pillows he lunges himself forward and falls over! should i go to the doctor about this ....does he seem behind!? he is well where he should be in everything else , just not this! my husband says i am just to worried about nothing and i am just comparing him to my 1st son...but it still worries me! : (

any REAL motherly addvice would help bunches! thanks!
