Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 October 2007

Okay I know you have seen this before but I cannot figure it out. I have had sharp pains running from my lower belly to my vagina for a few days now. Then yesterday I started getting the feeling like I was doing a permenant split. My legs kept giving out. And now I have the feeling like I have my period. I am full term so I am not worried about going in to labor (it would be nice) I just do not want to look stupid asking the doctor if it is nothing.

I went to a cemetery with some distant relatives to visit the family plot. One family brought their elementary aged children and did not prevent them climbing up and jumping off of headstones and generally running amok. I found this to be disrespectful. What do you think?

If you are shoved to the ground, smacked in the head, jabbed (with hands) and grabbed b the arm, pinched, and somebody gets sooo close to your face that they spit on you when they talk to are screemi and stepping on your feet...? when i'm doing my chores, my 2 yo bro and 3 yo sis always tag along and help me. they call it playing games. where they got that from, i don't know. but everyday when i pick them up from daycare, it's "let's play games, let's play games", leading me to the laundry room. so i let them help me, it takes longer, but they enjoy it. we put the laundry basket in the middle of us, and pick up the clothes one by one as they take them to their designated baskets (lights, darks, jeans and dark towels, delicates, bleach, etc.). then we load the 3 washers and they know how to set it to go (i do the soap though). when we get inside they enjoy sweeping, helping me cook dinner, cleaning the bathroom, unloading/loading the dishwasher. they don't play with their toys, they just want to clean "play games" all day. Maddy has been begging me to teach her how to vacuum, and Simon hates it when the room he shares with baby Kaden is a mess. He will go in a frenzy and won't stop until it's clean. typing.....

i get in trouble almost every day, for talking, chewing gum, very small pranks, talking back to the teacher, getting on the internet during class, sometimes skipping class, you know minor stuff like that at school, bigger stuff at home likie sneaking out, old fire crackers in mailbox thing with friends, but nothing bad like sex, drinking, drugs, etc. my mom said if i don't shape up, stay out of trouble, and get my grades up, she's gonna take me out of school the end of this semester and put me in some kind of online school. the big stuff like the firecrackers and junk, i can quit doing, no biggie. but at school, the teachers know i get detention every day, so they just look for ways to give me one. even if i try to be good they find something wrong with me like how i'm dressed, one gave me a detention for wearing a hat, and the like. so with 4 of them, how do i stay out of trouble at school?

Okay this is my last baby and its definately a suprise, and I just found out it will be my second girl, after four boys! my first daughter is Selena Jocelyn, and my boys are Matthew, Jonathan, Justin, and Jayden, I am half hispanic and would like a latin feel, but definately a name with a great meaning. Since she is a suprise, something like gods promise. My daugter likes the name Jaslene, its pretty but i dont know what it means!!!!!!! I dont have a middle name for that, but I been thinking of Leilah (dark hair princess) Any suggestions guys? thanks

This is just a general question that's been on my mind for a while. Where have we as parents gone so wrong that we now have to rely on "Nanny 911" or "Super Nanny" to help raise our kids? Generations past have just gotten on with it and raised their kids without having to resort to books and tv. Never before have we had such an ill-behaved, spoiled and bratty generation growing up around us. What's changed in your opinion?
Keep in mind that I'm not criticizing anybody..I'm just looking for all thoughts and opinions.
My husband says that in years past all members of a family helped raise a child..meaning parents, grandparents, extended family, etc. Perhaps the break-down of the family unit is to blame. I think too many parents want to be their kids' friends instead of parents.

I am 18 and on the pill. I done a pregnancy test and it showed possitive, i have all the symptoms of pregnancy and i done 2 extra test that also showed possitive, How do i tell my parents when they told me don't get pregnant, it was not planned but i really want this baby, i am scared of what will happen, how can i tell them? pls help

I have not had a period since the 12th september, i am 22. a good job and a great partner. A have been to the hospital and two test came up negative, one home on came up positive but very faint line. the doc listned to my belly and said it was probably very ealy stages. has this happend to anyone else!!! and to top it all i have a water infection now!!!! grrrrrr

Hi,
My son is two months old. He started crying two days ago and did not stop crying until we started him to breastfeed. But, I know, he was fed well before he started crying. We checked his clothes were dry, other conditions were also normal.

However, I have noticed, whenever he is being breastfed, he gets quiet, but as soon as he is taken off, he starts crying again. Condition becomes worse mostly in the evenings making us helpless.
