Okay I know you have seen this before but I cannot figure it out. I have had sharp pains running from my lower belly to my vagina for a few days now. Then yesterday I started getting the feeling like I was doing a permenant split. My legs kept giving out. And now I have the feeling like I have my period. I am full term so I am not worried about going in to labor (it would be nice) I just do not want to look stupid asking the doctor if it is nothing.

austin is a 12 yr. old girl ! Shouldn't she be considered a tad-bit UNQUALIFIED to answer this ?!?

I just had my 4th child 2 weeks ago and I felt that "permanent splits" feeling... it was the ligaments softening up and I also had bad pain in my pubic bone called "pubic symphisis dysfuntion".... hope it helps ! Your pubic pain sounds more like the baby pressing has dropped and is pressing on nerves (it feels like stabbing), I went into labor (with my last one) about 1 week after I started having the "period cramp" feeling.

It happened with all of my pregnancies between 7-9 months and I referred too it as feeling like my bones and ligaments between my legs had become "unhinged".

You can be in early labor for days! Some of the things you are experiencing are normal being that you are over your due date now. YAHOO ANSWERS is here for people to ask questions and get insight into something that they may not know about..so do not let anyone bother you with their IGNORANT answers! You have a valid question..and yes you might be in labor..EVERY woman is different! No 2 women experience the exact same feelings or pains in labor..Monitor your pain ..and or contractions..if they get closer together and more intense..or if your water breaks call your Dr. and let him/her know what's up. I hope you have a safe birth..GOOD LUCK!

since your questioning it. its not labor. when labor hits you will know . contractions atart and stop , your belly will get tight then relax your ody is still practicing, and you should call your doctor not random idiots on the web. most people on here are teens or never been pregnant call your doctor. never seek medical advice from the untrained

well, do you have pain all the time or intermittently? How frequent and is it steady. when you start feeling it ever 5-6 minutes steady for over an hour I would go to the hospital.

We need more details. Are you cramping? Are you having contractions? Did your water break? If one or more of these signs are happening, you may be in labor.
