I find that very disrespectful and blame it on the parents. A child doesn't know any better but the parents should have told them how important it is to show respect at a place like that.

Definitely disrespectful. Like I've told my children, grandchildren, and students, "not all areas in the world are play yards!" The headstones are technically private property that have been paid for and can be damaged. This has been a problem of vandalizing of graveyards, monuments, etc. 'Some Skateboarders think that the world is a skate-park and deface curbs, steps, and walls with the repairs to be made by taxpayers.
I used to visit a graveyard as a child as it was near my home and my grandfather, great-grandparents and other relatives and friends were in turned there. I never climbed on headstones, and I was usually unsupervised. In fact I looked at them as one would art work, I started going by myself at age 9. Respect starts with education, boundaries, and self-discipline.

That's horrible. Children will run amok, yes, but in a cemetery? They should really have some respect. Their parents are practically letting their children run around climbing on and jumping off people. It is incredibly disrespectful.

The parents should NOT have allowed their children to act so disrespectful. Would they want someone to bring their children into their home and jump off their furniture? Those headstones are somebodys property. That family was at the cemetary to pay their respects not disrespect.

YES IT IS DISRESPECTFUL! I mean it is place of rest and reflection. Not a playground. I would be mortified if my child did anything like that and I think the parents of those children should be smacked. I am sorry to sound so rude but what kind of person lets their children climb on a headstone?

Apart from the issue of disrespect, it's actually dangerous. Many children have been injured and killed by gravestones toppling onto them. The foundations weaken over time, and in many cases, the stone mason failed to fit a strong enough foundation plinth.
Councils all over the United Kingdom have caused controversy over the past decade by deliberately toppling gravestones in order to prevent liability should an accident occur.
I have included an Edinburgh Evening News source link which discusses both the issues of children being killed while playing around gravestones, and a council's controversial toppling policy.
In a nutshell, the parents are being utterly irresponsible for allowing their children to indulge in said activity.

Next time those disrespectful brats are there, I would hide behind a headstone and jump out at them, and scare the naughty pants off of them!!! I blame it on the parents for being dumb enough to let them do it. I don't even let my kids walk on the fresh dirt of a burial.. Some people just don't give a darn!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean, because I have a little cousin that is that same elementary problem child. My aunt and uncle, grandparents etc. all act like his behavior is acceptable and not disruptive. My husband and I can't stand to go to family outings b/c of his embarrassing behavior. My grandmother watches our son for us and a couple times I've when I went to pick him up, my cousin was @ her house too and this angered me. I don't even want MY child to associate with him. Point being - children like this should be controlled and made to mind, it's horrible when you can't stand to be around a person in your family.
I find it VERY disrepectful and embarrassing that this child was doing that. I don't even think its appropriate to stand on a grave site, I stand to the side. It's just common sense.

If I had come to the cemetery and that was my family member I would be extremely angry. That is not just disrespectful it is just wrong. To bury someone means they are religious somehow and every religion I know of sees that as a final resting place. People need to watch their children and teach them correctly.
